Living up here in the San Juan Mountains has some challenges. But at least I get use the capabilities of my Bronco every week. But with LED lights not putting out too much heat, and if its coming down, the ice up and become totally unusable. Cover??? . Kept running into this challenge... Baja Designs fogs... (and included typical day on the passes, why semi's are not fined higher amounts with inadequate equipment is baffling to me...)

Have you considered some halogen auxiliary lights? You could probably put Hella 500s or KC Daylighters on top of your bumper as proper snowmelters.
There are also heated-face LEDs but I haven't seen a set from a company I really trust.

I have a pair of Hella 500s with amber lenses I need to list on here. They use a 55w H3 halogen bulb.

I live in Michigan and we get some pretty good snows, ice and slush on our roads, I honestly can't say I have gotten to the point where the head lights are unusable due to the above mentioned mother nature droppings. I suppose if it got real bad I would pull over and wipe em down. Curious if its just me or is it a issue like OP describes.
