After hearing about the new horsepower bump, how much more power can the Bronco realistically make with a Ford backed tune?

Well, we are all here...waiting....and waiting....and waiting...so, I'd say it can make quite a bit of power. The question is, how much gas is in the tank. Mine is below half now.

As for your question, how much power is in direct inverse proportion to the amount of money in your savings account. The more power you get, the less money you will have after getting it. This curve enters an exponential curve of disparity once exceeding a .001 BHP increase, eg., 1HP increase costs $10. A 10 HP increase costs about $10,000.

Ford backed won't be as much as you can get with a tune like 5-star listed above.

The Ranger's Ford Performance tune gives these results:
  • Horsepower gain: 45 HP @ 4,500 RPM
  • Torque gain: 60 lb/ft @ 2,500 RPM

I'd imagine similar for a Ford 2.7 tune (I couldn't find one for F-150's 2.7 for reference).

Conversely, 5-star's F-150 2.7L 93 tune (no other mods) gives gains of 75-hp and 90 lb/ft.

But you risk voiding your warranty, whereas the Ford one maintains the warranty.

the Ford tune maintains warranty but it’s reduced to 3 years/36k from the factory powertrain 5 year/60k.

So based on the Ranger with the Ford tune, we could expect the 2.3 to make:

345 HP
385 lb-ft torque

That’s awesome! Now I can purchase a manual 2.3 Bronco 2-Door and have very similar power figures to the V-6
