Hello guys…

So to install the 3.0 on a Badlands SAS, I only need the shocks? Can the rest of the parts be reused?

Thanks

Hey man, so kind of. The pictures I posted actually exaggerated the stance issue, it’s not as bad as it looks. I didn’t take into consideration the weight I had in the back at the time. I had my old steel bumper, steel bash plate, the take off coil overs and a tool box in the rear. After I took all of that out it looks way better. It’s still the slightest bit higher in the front but I think once I get my winch and winch plate installed it will be completely unnoticeable.

Are those the stock 32" tires that come optional on the OB? I'm about to pick up some 3.0 take offs to install on my non-sas BL and was slightly concerned the tire size wouldn't match with the wheel well anymore. If those are the 32" tires it's a really good fit!

I went to my local parts department yesterday and came up with these part numbers. I gave them a vin from a 23 WT, 4dr 2.7 auto and the rear springs came up 5560-B. I also gave tried a vin with same as before but with tow package and it showed 5560-A. Hope this helps.

I had seen on another thread that the rear coil spring part # is NB3Z-5560-B; is the -A part you have here correct? Or is it a difference between tow vs non-tow package maybe?

Read the post #3 where I list the part number provided by @flip. There are three different rear spring options.

I believe I gave him a vin number of a wildtrak similar to my badlands and that was the part number associated with it.

They call it "rough road" suspension in the catalogue. Those are retail prices for each shock. Would need a VIN number to determine what springs are used.

Probably one of these for a front spring.

They usually count a hatch or tailgate or swing gate as a door to the cabin if it opens into the cabin. For example, the explorer is a 5 door. So the 2-door bronco is actually a 3 door SUV.

I totally missed that, how embarrassing lol!! Do we know what the letters actually denote though?

The "assembly" is just the shock itself. I'd have to get a few HOSS VINs to look at HVBOMs to look up the front spring, insulator and other numbers. The catalogue shows the front two shocks but none of the other stuff yet. Cat shows the rear breakdown so you will still need the insulator, spring, top bushing, spring hat and retainer nut. The top retainer is a new number but works on all previous setups (when it first changed the only difference was the 3 studs changed from a coarse to fine thread). Spring is different as well as the rod insulator.

Get me a decent sample of HOSS 3.0 VINs and I'll update my suspension cookbook with those specific setups. To me, getting these new from the dealer would be very cost prohibitive considering all of the aftermarket stuff starting to show up. When the bronco was first released, I could do a complete assembled SAS or BL setup for $2K or less, shipped. For whatever reasons (supplier price increase or greed) it's now cheaper to get the Ford Accessory shock kit, plus you get some lift. I know the BL and SAS folks aren't able to partake so the only option there is aftermarket. I would like to put 3.0 on my BL just for S&G but even doing it at cost, doesn't make sense. If you could get a set of take offs that match your config for a good price, then yes.
Hey Flip, never needed your services till now but you’re legendary on here for us OG members. I’m buying a set of takeoffs and the front suspension’s press fit lower mounting bolts have been pressed out. I know you can use grade 8 or higher bolts however do you have a part number for factory ford parts? Or in a pinch, can I press my hoss 2.0 lower bolts out and reuse them in the hoss 3?

I’m buying hoss 3 takeoffs and the front lower press fit bolts have been pressed out. Do you have a part number for those? I know I can use grade 8 or higher bolts but would prefer factory hardware. In a pinch could I press my hoss 2.0 bolts out and press them
