New to the site. Hoping to one day score a Bronco. Bad Lands trim level. 4 door hard too. My understanding is orders are closed for now. What’s an average wait time for a Bronco with limited options added? Basically a Badlands, 4dr hardtop, 2.3 with auto.
I have a 2.7L Badlands LUX w/hardtop on order for 1.33 years. My impression that orders take about 2 years to get, though my neighbor got a higher spec bronco that he recieved in 5 months, so idk 🤷‍♂️

Just under 2 years for me and no clue when I will actually get one. My advice is give up now, or we'll both be here 2 years from now wondering why we are still waiting.

I got a base soft top sas in 5 months. My buddy just got a re-ordered badlands soft top with high in 9 months; his original reservation is still not scheduled. In other words, nobody knows but likely somewhere between 4 months and never

If I remember correctly, the priority is existing reservations and dealer allocations... if they feel they are ahead of the game and don't see supply chain issues being a huge deal, then they'll open up a window for new orders (but I am sure the amount of new orders will be extremely limited). If you absolutely HAVE to have one this year... more than likely the best option is to find a dealer that will put you on their wait list for dealer allocations... but you will be paying over MSRP.

as other people have said, if you can wait over a year for your specific order, just drive something else for now. But you will need to be diligent about knowing if/when order windows open and which dealers is trustworthy to sell you your order at MSRP. Don't depend on the dealer to call you and let you know when the window opens though. That's up to you to keep watching for Ford announcements.

Edit - Oops forgot to answer your question. Best case scenario when you get you VIN assigned (whenever that is), about 1-2 months later you can "possibly" be assigned a build date. If you are given a build date and everything goes smoothly, your Bronco will get loaded onto a train with 2 weeks after the build date passes. To ship out to California, my bronco sat on a train for 2 weeks. Again this is all best case scenarios.
If one could believe the Ford Guy, the dealer that makes the videos, dealers will only receive low constraint builds, not a Badlands with a hardtop. My dealer said.......

I reserved my Badlands on 7/14/20 and it was delivered on 7/18/22. I would say get comfortable waiting regardless of options unless you don't mind paying $10k+ adm.

Decided on a Base when orders open back up. Big Bend doesn’t seem worth price. Along with a soft top. This should make for a shorter wait. Don’t need a lot of options. With so many aftermarket parts available, fixing up the outside should be easy. Will be moving up from a Maverick Lariat AWD 2.0. Not like I’m giving up luxury. Only off-roading will be the beach.
You might wait just as long for a Base sasquatch as you might for a Badlands. I had most of the constraints, and yet my VIN was issued in only 20 days. My Bronco was built and stuck on Dirt Mountain only 3 months after my order was placed (no reservation).

That was a 2021 2 door OBX 2.7 advanced 4x4 with the Lux and Tow packages. It all comes down to allocation.

Hard top = long wait
Badlands = long wait.

My BASE, with nothing on it but Aux switches (from a large dealer) is about 19 months, assuming it ever gets out of the rail yard.

Many people are getting squishy tops in 3-4 months though.

Yup who knows what the dealer would get for their allocations. OP mentioned hes willing to step down his build so I just let him know if he really wants one this year, he can buy a dealer allocated bronco. but it will most likely be over MSRP

Big bend 4 door, manual, 2.3, locking diff, hardtop, tow package, slide out tailgate - took 9 months. Go to the biggest dealer you are willing to drive to. I ordered from the 2nd largest volume dealer in Ohio and they seem to fill orders pretty consistently. The sales manager told me I was their "73rd 2022 order" when I ordered 9 months ago... Not that that probably matters.

Secret Recipe is

Big Bend, Black Diamond or Outerbanks
4 doors
2.3 Automatic
Soft Top

Hold the Sasquatch, module bumper, tow... You might get lucky and get it in 6 months.

I guess I missed on the thread, that the OP was willing to come down from a Badlands with a hardtop.

Just my suggestion: There is no rhyme or reason you'll be able to see. Constraint parts are one big part of the equation, but dealer allocations are an even bigger part as I see it. So my suggestion is order the bronco you want and ignore the constraint parts. Maybe go in and interview the dealer to see how many un-delivered orders they have on the books, and if they're honest like Grainger they might tell you whether your order has a chance of fitting in their allocation this year or not.

That's just my $0.25.

As far as personal experience goes? Well, I'm still waiting for a build date, and I have a number of "constraint" parts. I've been waiting 11 months since my original order, and around 2.5 years since my reservation. I figure I'll make payments into a savings account until the truck comes in and use that to augment my down payment.

Good luck though. Right now they're not taking new orders for a while. The official publications say they'll see what the current order load looks like after they've wiped the books of dead reservations and orders in late November, so your wait for a custom order, presuming extreme luck, is at best late December, but more likely December next year.

On the other hand, if you want one now, just look around. There are actually a lot for sale on the used market. You'll pay at least 10% over MSRP for 1000 miles used, but they are available.
