Heated steering wheel removal

Anyone remove their heated steering wheel before? I've got an aftermarket (OEM but rewrapped) wheel on the way that doesn't have heating, just curious if there's simply a plug to the stock heating element that can be disconnected once the airbag is out of the way or if there's actual cutting/capping of wires involved.

Well, I’m *really* late to this post but just curious - did you ever go through with this? I’m actually looking to add a heated steering wheel if you still had yours lying around and wanted to sell it.
