I've searched the forums, and read up on all of the posts related to the idea of swapping grills between vehicles with and without cameras, but haven't seen any instance of someone actually doing it.

Has anyone with a front-facing camera installed a Big Bend grill and gotten the camera to mount?
Additionally, has anyone with a Badlands installed a Big Bend or OBX grill, along with the new grill's latch surround assembly? (since the BB and OBX grill openings are different than BL and WT, the air intake channels differ [green parts in picture])

Could it be as simple as trimming that horizontal bar in the opening between the "O" and "N", to mimc the OBX grill?

Here is the diagram showing the air intake channels being different:

I don't know. As as I know All Bronco grilles are the same but I could be wrong.

On the back of my OBX grill there are mounting points for the camera and bracket that holds the wiring and wash tube along with the camera to the back of the grill. It alcohols very well be the black part behind the grill that makes a difference. You may not have the washer hose ran up to the grill either. There is a setting in forscan for a auxiliary camera. If you have switches you could also tap into the backup camera feed with an aftermarket box (at least for the superduty’s I’ve seen options. )and simply flip a switch to activate the front camera.

The thing is, I have the camera on my Badlands. My question is: How hard is it to retro-fit it onto a grill that didn't accommodate a camera from the factory (like the Big Bend). The bracket that holds in the camera in place should already be holding my camera on my BL. Is it as simple as trimming off those horizontal bars on the BB grill opening, and then attaching the bracket to the backside, or is that bracket not interchangeable because the mounting points may differ between grills?

Gotcha I’ve only messed with my OBX grill which I already had the camera. Here is what the heck if my OBX grill looks like if the BB grill has these mount points I think your set. You could always build them out of epoxy too. Might be easier just to get an OBX grill. Unless you want the light grey color.

WOW, thanks so much for this picture!

Hmmm.....I'll have to remove my BL grill and see if the bracket is the same. But the BL for sure doesn't have that panel directly above, which in your case closes the middle top opening, hiding the wiring and tube. I might have to just purchase, or find/trade, the entire assembly for an OBX.

By goal is to have either an OBX or BB grill, and paint it a satin black to match the MOD bumper and flares. So either grill works, finish-wise. Just need to be able to get the camera mounted, and keep the functionality of the air intake channel assembly thing (around the latching system), or replace it with the corresponding one for those grills.
