Has anyone else had ordering issues with The Ford Store??

Yeah Ford Performance is a mess.

Prices are always lower on the web site. And you get the option of shipping to a dealer. But I have heard the dealer doesn't really get any notification that your order is coming - they just get a box with parts and ... that's about it.

But if you go in to order from the dealer, you pay a dealer markup on them (at least at my dealer) - occasionally I had haggled them down to pay the website price, but usually they just say no due to ... reasons. Especially with "installed" prices - most dealers around here don't even accept install orders from the web site anymore, and if you get them to quote you an install price on something, it's astronomically higher than the price listed on the website.

It's amazing how difficult they can make something that should be so simple to accomplish. The best recourse I've found is to order Ford Performance parts through a third party - like Lethal Performance or Summit Racing. You can't use Ford Points that way, but you at least have a half-way helpful middle man in the process.

I have ordered from FORD directly to be delivered to my local dealer and it was okay but little to no tracking. And no notification when it arrived at the dealer.

I have also purchased from FORD dealers in the US who seem to be interested in making a market selling parts. Totally different experience. I have had products replaced that were sent but not in new condition. And there is usually a parts person to speak to if necessary. It was a little bit of a hassle but not a major issue. They simply resent new parts and credited the originals. To the dealers defense, I am seeing more repackaged goods across many companies as online shopping lends itself to order returns.

Update and a shout out; due to help from another forum member, I was contacted by Kyle S from ford performance regarding missing pieces to my order. He took my address and noted my complaint. Lo and behold he shipped me a complete set (script fender badges) and was kind enough to include a matching smoke-black Ford oval as well.

I must say Kyle certainly lived up to his word, which doesn’t happen often in this business

So a shout out to Kyle S from ford performance, a good guy. Hopefully he’s resolved others who’ve had issues.

Sorta related I ordered the procal with my reward points on Sept 2.

I have yet to get order confirmation and the points were all depleted. What’s the deal @Ford ????

I got a confirmation that my points were used but not sure I even got the order placed. Had to pay a balance out ofpocket too.

My interactions when an order didnt go well, was not positive. Alot of corporate "empathy" and apologies, but nothing that they could do. Recommended sending a large multiple piece order back and then reorder the same items that were not compatible with my year... Havent ordered thru them since. Closest dealers markup all their parts so that isnt ideal either. The farther dealer which I sent Ford Performance parts to has been great, but is a bit of a drive and out of the way to get to. Super friendly people that I will order from over the phone and pick up when I can though. I am hesitant to order from Ford Performance again as alot of their items are "non returnable" and the inability for them to resolve problems on parts they said would fit/work.

I had a similar experience.
I ordered a mod bumper (with PS) they took the order with the best discount code I had seen (25%).
After about 6 weeks they canceled the order stating it wasn't in stock.
It was literally in stock on the web site or they don't let you order.

The response:
"Sorry you had a problem but there is nothing we can do. You will just have to wait until the bumper comes back in stock".... like I had for months before I was able to order.

Very very poor experience.

Thank You and Agreed. I will still order but I will be way more selective on what I order. Due to dealers insane markup and the dealer I prefer being out of the way, I do try to order from dealers that discount parts thru Ford website, if it makes sense with shipping prices. There are some things I want OEM like oil filters, touch up paint, etc. Currently Ford still has 20% off and I really want the tailgate Bronco emblem in matte black along with Ford's Black lugs.

I just spoke with their customer service and they said due to California restrictions, their system has started canceling orders for the Procal tune regardless of where they are being shipped. So weird.

Even when you install one now, it has a warning that pops up saying not to install it on California vehicles.

My procal shipped today. I ordered the husky hood protector after the procal, it shipped and was delivered before I got the email notification that the procal shipped.
