Has anyone seen this type of white discoloration before or is there a way to alleviate?

I just got my Bronco’s annual paint protection check up and detailing done and it started pouring raining. I tried to cover it in time because I was leaving the next day for a trip and some water may have been on the roof when covering.

It’s been uncovered for about a week now and the roof still looks like this….

(I just installed the EZ 4x4 flip top a week prior…just a preface any questions about the hardware on my roof)

Were you putting any kind of sealant or wax on the hard top that didn't get a chance to set before it rained?

I'm pretty sure the EZ 4x4 flip top installation will void any Warranty on the top. Just to be sure, let's get @horseshart opinion because he loves this topic.

This looks like some chemical residue from a drive through wash or some exposure to some sort of a detailing liquid that did not react well with the top. 10/10 any dealer will deny warranty on this one

If it wasn't this way prior to detailing, and covering the bronco during rain then I would say the likely suspect is the detailer and/ or the cover.

Those are the only 2 culprits as they are the only two new variables.

Did you call the detailer? "Hey wasn't this way before you detailed it, now here it is. Any recommendation or idea why this may be happening?"

Or, if there was water on the roof prior to covering, that water had nowhere to evaporate to, and it just went into the top in the form of some nasty mineral deposits.

What have you tried so far to remove the stains? Vinegar? Alchol? Detailer spray? Dawn dish soap?

Which cover did you use during the rain? Got a pic of the underside of the cover? The part that would touch those areas?

Also paint protection checkup? As in PPF or ceramic coating? Did they apply anything to the roof? Wax? Ceramic?

My hunch is the issue lies with the rain and the cover you used. Just ask the detailer why think it may have happened, and they may have some ideas to remove the stains.
