Yup. Happens in cold weather. I'd say below 35 deg. Or when ice is up there.

Goes away when it warms up

Now that’s really interesting. Here in Arizona my drivers side panel started making that noise when temps went from our 110-115 degree days to high 80s and by the time it was in low 80s both panels were making that same noise. Interesting…..
