Has anybody else had an issue with gas spurting out of the tank when filling up? I’ve ruled out gas pumps because this issue has happened at multiple stations in different cities/states. Even when I pump gas with the slowest setting or manually, it shoots out of the tank when the gas is finished pumping and runs all out onto the side. Thank you for any responses!

I've had this happen a couple times, figured it was an issue with the pump. 99% of the time they auto-shut off. I can't tie it to any specific station.

I put the nozzle in all the way and fill until it shuts off. I then pull it out a little ways and fill again until shut-off. The overflow happened when I had it all the way in.

Happens once every few months on my Jeep. Not sure if it’s the pump or the vehicle

I never re-pump. When the gas pump stops, I am done. Pulling the handle twice wont add ,any more miles to your trip. Prefer the added space in the tank for expansion.

Take it to the dealer. If it's not the pump it could be the tank vent. If it's not working properly the pump auto shut off won't activate

I don’t re-pump either. It does this on regular fill ups.

I had this problem with a Ford Edge company car years ago. The dealer was able to fix it. I’ve had zero issues with gas spillage while filling my Bronco after 12,000 miles

The pump should handle the cutoff. Could be a number of thing though.

I just bought my 2023 Bronco 4-door 2.3 Ecoboost and it has done it both times I've filled the tank at two different gas stations. And its when I just insert it all the way and set it to fill and auto-stop. It auto stops, then a second later a bunch of gas gushes out all over the side and on the ground. I know this is an old thread, but I'm hoping you're still on here and can share what fixed it on yours, if you got it fixed. I still have some factory warranty left so I will probably take it to the dealer. But just curious if others had this and what the cure is. I had a 2022 Ram truck and this was a common issue with those. The dealers were replacing the gas tank filler tube and I think the charcoal canister that is supposed to absorb the fumes. I'm pretty sure mine on the Bronco is soaked with these two over-fills.
