I am looking to add a new shop type vac to the garage. Mostly just for cleaning the Bronco and some other light tasks. Bagless would be preferable. My top priority would be that the motor should be both powerful and indestructible. After spending a lot of time reading reviews it seems that most reasonably priced options are cheep imported pieces of junk with high failure rates and no support from the manufacture. Does anyone own a garage vac that is still for sale that you would suggest? Thank you in advance.
A central vacuum unit is a good option. We’ve had a whole house vacuum by Nutone for 30 years and still works great. Here’s just a couple of them on line:

I've been running this same vacumaid for years and love it. The 50' hose is a game changer. I have a small garage and being able to vacuum my vehicles outdoors without having to get anything out it's great. Just roll out the hose and go. Wall mounted means it takes up effectively no space. Its quieter than your typical shop vac as well. The only real downside is it is a dry only vac. It uses bags as well but that doesn't bother me. I wrap the hose around the vac itself so it cuts the used wall space almost in half. Bonus the red color matches my Bronco.

I Have the 2 of these Vacumaid's (8-10 years old). They are really good, and I am pretty sure they are USA made. I have mine mounted higher up on the wall out of the way if space is an issue. The switches are nicely located at the bottom.

I have 2 of these. 12 years old and running strong. Great suction, long hose, many pieces. It is wall mounted but also portable. Probably the best vacuum I have owned.

Thank you to everyone that responded to my information request. After a lot of thought I decided on going with the Vacumaid Garage vac. It was more than I wanted to spend but it had exactly what I was looking for (except price). The Bissell looked very good and I almost bought that one. The two things that swung it was 1- Vacumaid is made in the US. 2) If anything does go wrong replacement parts are easily found on their website.
Thanks Again.

solid choice, won't work for me personally as I get water from melting snow and rain in spots that don't drain properly so having a wet/dry vac was necessary

Guess I'm the only weirdo with a Dewalt vac.. or three because I liked it so much. One RV, one house, one garage.

Prefer the cordless 6 or 8ah battery pairing and HEPA and run prefilters for easier cleaning.

I also like the Rigid, had it for years. Have Dewalt and milwaukee battery ones, which are OK for some applications but mine don't have anywhere close to the power of a plug in. I was told that the Milwaukee's use an odd size hose exclusive to them.
