My wife ordered and received a Job# 2, '24 Big Bend last August and it's been great for her. She needed gas the other day, and being the gentleman than I am, I said to her "no hunnie, I'll pump it for you" LOL! I get out and push the fuel door and nothing. Now standing there like a confused Neanderthal, I pushed it again, expecting a different outcome. Nope. I don't own a purse so I couldn't smack it either. My '23 is not like this so I know that things are not right. I was able to get my fingers behind the door and open it (all the while a Jeep Wrangler owner was staring at me). Whatever.
So this is what I found...the fuel door plunger is missing, no where to be found.
I just don't want to mess around with dropping her Bronco off for warranty work right now, so I did some digging. That stupid plunger is part of the door assembly from Ford as seen below (circled red) for $120:
Of course. So I did some more digging and I remember other, newer Ford products have this feature too. I stumbled across a service part "latch" while google searching. I zoomed in on it and compared it to my Bronco's fully functioning fuel door and it seemed to ressemble it. Searched around and found out my local Ford dealership had one on the shelf for $10!!! Super simple to install (probably how it dissappered too) stick it in and rotate the plunger counter-clockwise 90°. 5 second install. Works as it should now.

Hope this helps and prevents spousal abuse.
