Hey Ford,
How hard is this? I'd be much more likely to keep my order and not have a bad taste in my mouth about all of the delays if I was kept informed like Rivian order holders are!!

Hi Jim,

I’m writing you from our new Customer Engagement Center in Irvine, CA, where Guides and Specialists are working to support deliveries to customers across the country. It’s been a privilege to see social media and Internet forums flooded with photos and videos of new customer deliveries; they inspire us to keep exploring every option to get even more of you into Rivian vehicles as quickly as we can.

To support that goal, we’re adjusting our production sequence to maximize production output in spite of supply challenges. Here are some important details:

  • The biggest adjustment is with our interior color options. For both R1T and R1S, we are prioritizing Black Mountain and Forest Edge interiors for the soonest deliveries, with Ocean Coast deliveries starting later this fall. The light wood in Ocean Coast is more challenging to produce, so in order to move faster, we are focusing initially on producing with Black Mountain and Forest Edge.
  • We are also using more batching of exterior colors and wheel options. Building in few build combinations reduces complexity with our suppliers and in the plant and allows us to build a greater number of vehicles.
  • This updated approach also means we’ll see Adventure Package vehicles rolling off the line alongside Launch Edition vehicles over the next few months.
While these ramp-optimized build plans may affect some people’s delivery timing — moving some up and some back — this will enable us to deliver as many vehicles as quickly as possible. In the coming weeks, we will email updated delivery estimates to all preorder holders.

For preorder holders with a delivery window in 2022, we will be reaching out in late May to gauge your preferences and help further inform our build combinations. If you’re flexible on certain options, you may be able to take delivery sooner. If you love your original configuration and prefer to stick with it, then no action is required on your part — we’ll simply continue to update you on your estimated delivery timing.

We ask those preorder holders with a 2023 (or later) delivery window to sit tight for now but know that we intend to provide you with more clarity this summer as well.

Look for more updates about your individual preorder in the coming weeks, and as always, please reach out if you’ve got questions.

Thanks for being on the journey with us.

More soon,

Tony Caravano

It wouldn't be as bad if Ford would send out at least something like MIC top has increase production 30% and is forecast to increase further in the coming months instead of just sitting on their hands. The only time customers haven't been left totally in the dark was when Ford said "oops MIC is garbage and we're replacing them all and you won't see your Bronco unless it's a first edition".

For kinda did the same thing - "Good news! If you order a 4 door soft top 2.3 auto Base Mid Package with no options - you're at the front of the line*"

* ( kind of - it also depends on your reservation order, your dealer, and other random and arbitrary decisions we are making in a room somewhere in an office building - Hang in there! - Here's a beer coaster to keep your desk from getting messed up while you watch 1000s of videos of our buddy "The Fun Haver" and other media influencers smiling ear to ear, blasting around exotic locations in multiple Broncos. Remember - the wait makes you appreciate it more! )

If you told me back in '20 that I'd see an actual real life Rivian on the road before I got my Bronco - I'd have told you you're crazy. If I see another one I might loose it.

Rivian is all factory direct-to-customer, with no dealer network to either help, or get in the way?

You got a beer coaster? WTF!

Ford has kind of done much of this. (Which options are constrained. Option to change to move up.) What missing is an actual estimated production window like the originally promised last May.

Also, any meaningful update on MIC (and Mod for that matter).

just as an example...but at one time they were only making 50 a day, lol.
I made the switch to soft top last August. Went from 19th to 3rd at my dealer. Hoping MIC production increases drastically. Not sure I’m believing ford will be ready to sell me a MIC top in ‘23

yeah, I really don't see it. A couple weeks ago I chatted with a girl sitting in a parking lot with my exact order except soft top. She switched because her dealer told her to and was hoping she would get a MIC top as a separate item next year.

Even though I personally had to wait longer than I thought I'm glad I stuck to my guns. I sure as shit didn't want to pay the $3k+ that's pretty much guaranteed when you can buy it separately.

Rivian has lately been sending out an email every week. While 7/20 Bronco reservation holders feel like they have waited for an eternity to get scheduled, there are Rivian reservations dating back to 2018!

One thing to add here, a couple of months ago I received an estimated delivery date of 1H'23 for the Rivian. I now have a build date on my Bronco and still no estimated delivery date. WTFF?
