make sure you double check for leaks.. I had the same Dorman plug and it leaked so bad. i put the OEM back in and no leaks.

Dorman products are great. As with any replacement part, a lot of times people do not replace the related parts along with the main part. Old related parts will put extra stress on the new part and cause premature failure regardless of the brand name.

Dorman is a major source of OEM-style parts for my 25 year old Super Duty since Ford doesn't believe enough in their own products to make OEM replacement parts available. They may not be perfect but they're affrodable and available, two things Ford parts rarely are.

I put one on after my first oil change. Makes oil changes much more manageable. Great investment if you’re doing your own oil changes. When I had my F150 and Ranger, I used the Fumoto valve. It worked great as well but oil drain was a little slower. Worth the trade off for a cleaner experience.

I have a drain pan, and when done, I transfer it to a 5 gallon tank for storage. Once that it is full, I go to the recycle center to empty it. The transfer from the pan to the 5 gallon tank is tedious and looking forward to getting a hose for the Ronin and letting the old oil just go straight into the 5 gallon tank! Might see if I can find one of these types of plugs for the wife's car too. I also like the idea of the magnet on the Ronin.

Changing the oil on the 2.7 is an absolute breeze. So simple that I can't justify the cost of having someone else do it. Plus I like to see the oil coming out with my own two eyes.

I changed my oil yesterday and decided it would be the last time I endure "splash down". When done, came inside and immediately ordered the Ronin plug off amazon.

Ah, a fellow victim of what I call Exxon Valdez syndrome. Whatever engineer decided to put the front sway bar on F150 directly into the oil drain path needs a swift kick in the teabag.

My first '19 F150 oil change disaster led me to the Ronin plug, great product. Ran it several years with no issue, subzero temps to 100+.

I did replace it with one of these, as these have the locking tabs of the OEM plugs that the Ronin does not, allows "tunable" oil flow also:
