Does anyone know if the Factor 55 / Ford Performance fairlead will fit stock everglades?

I believe it will, yes.

It's the same fairlead that comes with the Ford Performance winch kit, which includes 95% of the same components as the Everglades winch.

Before you order.... be aware you may have to beat on the winch rope it to actually get it to fit. (Did the exact same install a few weeks ago.)

11 minute 45 second mark.

Does that even have to be on there?

True, up to you if you want to go through the hassle.

The only way to get the thimble off is to cut it off. So you either got the cut the steel and hope you don't damage the rope. Or you cut the rope and re-splice.

Or beat it with a hammer.

FWW, You do not cut either the rope or the steel tube thimble, you 'de splice' / re splice...
watch the video on the web page...

It’s a Brummel lock on the end of the Warn winch line, so the only desplicing you’ll be able to do is pulling the buried tail out. After that you’ll likely have to cut it. Once that knot is tied and weight is put on the line it’s locked.

Factor 55 themselves recommends—or used to recommend before Warn bought them—a long bury splice, which you can desplice even after weight has been put on the line (though it takes some work).

I do agree that cutting the metal thimble is a bad idea, but for someone who hasn’t spliced before and doesn’t have a fid, I could see them thinking about making the attempt first.

Thats good info, My Ultrahook should arrive today and I have not had a load on the rope yet, after watching the videos I ordered the spool and fid from Factor 55 so well see where I end up. I already had issues getting the thimble through the fairlead and had to hammer on it.

I have an ultra hook from 55, all I needed to do was take the pins out of my flatline and install it. But I answered the question, I already had a flatline on it, so the end of the rope was already done.

Thank you so much for all the videos you make. The stereo series was absolutely invaluable to me replacing everything in my '23 Heritage. Really enjoy the content.!
