It’s nice they did this, I think most on this forum know already since it was posted on 3/14 and has over 8000 views.
I got the free just days before I was going to purchase thanks to that post.

I’m a bit confused about this free trial. Once I activate my account and put my cc info in, it takes me to another window to download the app. When I do, it says I have 7 days free then I will be charged for the full $99 or whatever the exact price is.

Once it’s active you can go into your onx profile and remove the cc info for future auto billing.
I already was on my free trial when I used the link to activate my free year, I did enter my cc info and remove it the next day after my elite showed active in my profile.
I do recall it somehow tied onto my ford pass profile when I activated it for the free year of elite.

I took the bait and signed up, but OnX is expensive as all get out. Will use for this year to try it out.

My go to is Trails Offroad. Very good app, offline downloads, affordable.

I also use Gaia and always will for more than wheeling and have paid for it for years and love it. Trails also can load maps into Gaia which is awesome. Will see if OnX plays well with Gaia as well.

Standard OnX Off Road is like $35 per year.

I called and they allowed me use the Ford offer to upgrade rather then to renew at the lower level membership fee. Also said I could use the Ford offer on any number of OnX subscriptions so I signed up for Fish and Backcountry too, just have to remember not to allow it to renew all the services.

OnX is a fantastic app. It has great descriptions of trails with ratings and photos. I am also able to use Androidauto and bring it up on my dash. I love using it
