Pull them forward? Does that mean just flip them around and face the other direction?
No, the ratchet mechanism works by pulling the head restraints forward. Pull it forward to adjust it forward, and when it reaches the end of the ratchet it snaps back to the most rearward/ upright position. It's a one way ratchet though, so it only adjusts forward until the limiter and resets so if you miss the exact position you want you need to go to the end and start over.

Yesterday I was looking out my rearview mirror and the headrests in the backseat were bugging. I was thinking I need to pull those off so I pulled over and removed the first one, then when removing the second one I realized it would simply push forward all the way down. Brilliant! Now I have them both folded down and don’t see them out my rearview, opens up the view!

How hard would it be to replace the cloth seats with the leather ones?

I'm an idiot.
Since I got my Bronco in December I've been riding with my headrest tilted forward. I've tried pushing it back, looked for a button but nothing worked. I figured that was just a flaw on Ford (rear vents, BO bar, etc.).
Well after getting it detailed today, I get back in and the headrest are in an upright position.
My dumbass never thought to pull them forward. I just adjusted every other part of the seat until I was in a simi-comfortable position.

I wonder what else I don't know. Next I'll find out there some magic code to change the annoying double honk and other settings...

It should be a ratchet style, with reset in the full forward position. Many cars are this way so the headrest can be static in case of an impact.

The problem with turning them around is that they will be tilted way back, and of course in an accident they'll give you no support at all. You may as well take them off.

I like that it get more rear view when I do that, I hate that it looks like a Star Wars battle droid

absolutely ridiculous on a $57k vehicle I can't adjust something as silly as a headrest. Maybe in the next couple model years Ford will add it to mgv/cloth trims so we can just buy them. If they wanted to cheap out they could have at least had them pointing straight up.

Right? My F150 XL with cloth seats has nice, comfortable, adjustable head rests - which, by the way, fit perfectly in the Bronco. Which is why my wife stole one out of my truck.

I still haven't had time to research whether there any gray vinyl F150 head rests that would match our MGV.

@flip if you've peeked in on this thread, is that something you could check on for us?

I've been looking around for the leather headrests for mgv equipped trims and so far have come up empty. I have the part number for mgv ones and seen them for around $90 but no go on leather yet. I might would just swap mine out.

edit: I might have actually just found the part number for Badlands leather but not sure. M2DZ78611A08CQ

Mine’s a 2017 XL with STX trim, so the cloth seats are specific to this trim. I don’t know for sure if a standard XL has the same headrests. I want to go explore the salvage yard, too. I just haven’t had the time…

I’m not really sure how to read this. When it says ā€œless coverā€, does that mean covers are sold separately? So any cover would work on any headrest? Does 2-way mean up and down, but fixed back and forth, while 4-way is adjustable in both axes?

Please share your camera relocation steps. Feel free to PM me vs hijacking this thread but I’m extremely interested in how to do this. I’ve also got the factory winch kit.
