Hi guys.
Looking to install fog lights without a switch.
I simply want them to come on with the low beams.
I have the lights and harness.
The harness has:
Connectors for each light. No problem.
Ground wire. No problem
Red wire through relay. What does this connect to?
Red wire, not through relay. What does this connect to?

I know we need to use the brown/blue wire on the headlight harness.

I'm looking to find out what the red wires on the fog light harness connect to.

Any help is much appreciated.

Admittedly not quite sure what you mean "Red wire not through relay". BUT... the relay should have 4 wires going to it:
  • Power from the battery
  • Power to the lights
  • Trigger wire, which should be connected to the Brown/Blue headlight wire
  • Ground

Thank you so much for your help!!
My original post wasn't quite accurate, so I'll clarify:
Connectors for each light. No problem.
Ground wire. No problem
Red wire from relay through fuse. What does this connect to?

Ohhhhhh I get it now.
  • The one with the fuse goes to the battery. That is the power for the lights.
  • The one without the fuse you'll splice into the Brown/Blue wire. That's the line to flip the relay.

No joy.
Any other thoughts?

You have a multimeter??

If so check the voltage on that Brown/Blue wire with the lights turned on. I'm wondering if it's not putting out a full 12 volts.

Yeah. No voltage on the brown/blue wire.
Tapping on the relay, the lights will flicker but evidently that wire doesn't have enough juice to trigger the relay.

Why not use the OEM pigtails hiding behind the front bumper? You just need to enable them in Forscan and swap your headlight switch to an OEM one that has the fog button. @4x4TruckLEDs.com sells the harness that converts the OEM plug to the type you show above.

Hey. Thanks! A good theory, but I have a base model. There are no pigtails.
But, once we found the correct wire to connect to, it took about 10 minutes to make everything work the way we wanted.
No new switch, forscan, etc. required.
