Got a great setup, Mike. If I ever see you in the OBX I'll be sure to stop by and say hey!

My version 1 building off the concept and @broncoBlake's idea. Crossbar mounted to the TrailRax mounts, then was able to reuse my old rod holders - which I prefer because I can lock my rods in. Still todo is a quick release for when I do need under-hood access. Thankfully though most beaches I access have free air by the on ramps.

I like this setup for several reasons: 1) I can still fold the top back, unlike when I mount the rod holders on my roof rack. 2) My rods are locked in two places and stable, especially the 12-footers. 3) Rod holders block any potental road debris/bugs from hitting my reels. 4) I like that the rods are over top the vehicle, rather than feeling like they’re hanging off the sides.

Did ~850 miles of highway driving this past week and this setup was great.

Barricade HD adventure roof rack. Smittybilt makes one very similar and I actually like the design of that one a little more.
I’ve been out of the loop for a bit. So, these guys created a style that allows you to flip back the soft top with the rack installed? That was a pipe dream early on.

that’s right! I can still fold it back with the rack on, I just have to remove the crossbars. I don’t have any pics with the top folded back but I can take some if you’re interested to see
