Fake sub/amp...Now what?

2dr? If so, how much of a pain in the was your side panel to get off? I broke one clip and ripped a piece off near the 12v/light assembly.

I don't recognize that piece. My passenger side wasn't bad to get off, at all. It had the newer blue 1 piece clips, and nothing broke. Just pulled somewhat gently back until I could extend it further, then a quick yank.

Drivers side panel had the white 2 piece clips, and sucked a little more. I broke 1 clip completely, and another clip broke halfway, but I found it still usable.

Throwing this out here to help others know where clips are located and the types used.

Watch dome videos on using Foscan, it can be intimidating but its not difficult to use. You can take a back of your rigs current "setup" so if something goes wrong you reset everything back to they way it came.

You would really have to try to mess anything up however.

The kicker fits, tho you have to drill 8 holes in the subwoofer enclosure to mount it (with #8 sheet metal screws), trim off a small plastic alignment pin on the enclosure (it will interfere with the kicker sitting flat)

Unfortunately, I didn’t take a picture of the subwoofer enclosure. Here is a photo I have of the dummy speaker and i circled in red an alignment hole in the metal frame which a small 1/8” diameter pin molded into the plastic enclosure goes into.

The pin was maybe 1/4” tall and prevented the Kicker from sitting flat.

If your enclosure has it, it would be near the most rearward bottom of the original screw holes that hold the dummy speaker.

I looked for DIY videos from other members who replaced/installed a subwoofer and found out some enclosures did NOT have this alignment pin like mine did. Maybe the pin doesn’t exist for B&O subwoofer assemblies, or the pin was added/deleted sometime during the 2023MY to improve assembly.

Need to get my Bronco back together today, then find some forscan help in Chicago area. Not sure a one time forscan usage is worth buying everything to do it myself. Time to ask a forum member for help.

Yes, I had the alignment pin too. I just used a blade scraper and it cut off flush and clean.

i missed this little alignment pin. My Bronco is still apart waiting to see if the blue clip can be replaced. Worth my time to check and shave that down? Ford parts department couldn't find the one I was holding in my hand in their system. Guy had not so nice things to say about Ford switching things up and using an array of these types of things. LOL

Did the blue clip come off when removing the panels? Any advice on how to avoid breaking anything when removing panels? I have no idea what I’m doing but I did buy a trim removal kit.

First time doing this. I had the removal tools as well. 2dr, the whole side panel comes off and you have to deal with the passenger side front seat belt a bit. You have to remove the sill plate for the passenger door to get it all the way off. They do come off, unfortunately, they are a bit tight in some spots, but I think it comes down to the leverage you can get with the tool and finessing them enough. I kinda feel lucky to only break 1 blue clip/pin. Some were a real bear to get out. Take your time, keep looking behind as you get some loose and you should be able to come up with a game plan. I have a full pic of the 2dr panel off if you're interested.

If you still have the trim panel off, then it's not hard to check if you had that pin. Just remove the 4 screw that hold the plastic ring on top of the speaker that interfaces with the trim panel. Then you can just visually check to see if your Kicker speaker is sitting flat. If your enclosure has the pin, then there will be a slight 1/8" gap under the speaker lip near the lower-rearward part. No need to remove the entire speaker to check it.

BTW, I did find a photo of just the enclosure showing the pin in another B6G thread. This is from CMillBronco. Ignore the cardboard circular template which was used to cut a larger hole to fit a larger speaker. I circled the pin in red:

For the interior trim panel's blue clips, I had the same issue with my dealer not being able to figure out the part-number. I had 2 break and one went missing. Previous to 23MY, this was a white clip and RagnarKon gave me the part-number as W721378-S300 which is dimensionally the same. Instead of buying at the dealer, I bought this pack on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09SF4Z373

I didn't have to trim anything off mine.

I noticed the right bottom side of the speaker was not sitting flush on mine. There was a small plastic "pin" I had to take off.

I am guessing its either an issue with the molding process and not present on every enclosure or its an alignment pin that people haven't noticed and just tightened the speaker down and called it a day.
