Do the factory skid plates cover the catalytic converter or provide any protection to it?

Any pictures underneath of the full factory skid plate setup on a 4door? Googling but getting aftermarket pics.

Skids have nothing to do with the cats. No way in gods green earth anyone is cutting the cats off a bronco. They’re shove up on the back side of the engine.

It took me a hour to get both off my truck on jacks with a angle grinder and sawzall.

It only takes 2 minutes to steal the whole gas tank. If you really want something to worry about. That and the spare tire are about the only easy items to take.

Thanks, that makes me feel better. Just heard stories about trucks in some areas I've been going to getting their cats cut.

Well if they show up at night and try it, get a chair and some popcorn. It’s going to be funny. If you look behind the back side of your front tires under the wheel liners you can see the cats.

I was worried about the same thing - tons of stories of converters being stolen, but after being underneath the Bronco and installing my rock sliders, I know the cats are all good.

Yeah. Throw a creeper under there and hit the 6 or 8 bolts with an impact and you’re off with the whole gas tank in less than 10 minutes.
