So for all of you saying
“But a Hellcat has a manual”

This is the amount of LBFT needed to get each vehicle rolling up to 3mph. Aka take off with clutch.

Hellcat/ GT350R 65lbft
Bronco 33” tires 91lbft
Bronco 35” tires 101lbft
Bronco 37” tires 112lbft

It not about engine lbft it 1000% to do with the amount of force needed to get the vehicle moving. Trying to get a vehicle moving that needs 112lbft is going to eat up a clutch for breakfast!

Once again. Go drive a Shelby 350 or Z07 Corvette. Or SRT dodge. The clutch is very heavy.

And those are very light cars. Its not about engine torque. It’s RESISTANCE! how much torque needed to move the car from a stationary position. You a lot more in a Bronco than a Shelby.
Not to get in the middle or anything, but I’ve daily driven a Camaro SS with the Tr-6060(same trans as the challenger, the gt500, and others) and never thought the clutch was heavy at all, and driven in plenty of stop and go traffic and long trips with no problems. Have nearly 80,000 miles on this one.

And they aren’t really very light cars, both camaro and challenger are at around 4000lbs or more(mines a vert so just over 4K). So maybe a few hundred pounds shy of the base curb weight for the bronco from what I’ve seen. A passenger or two could even(or tip) the scales depending who ya pick up at the bar after a few drinks.

And while I’ve never driven one off road, I’ve met more than one person that’s used the tr6060 in an off-road rig. Not saying that the 6060 would make for a good bronco trans at all, just saying there’s isn’t a reason they couldn’t make a manual trans work with both engines and still be capable of a lot. They just choose not to. It is what it is.

Yes there are difference like wheels etc, so it won’t be the same comparison. But they still easily could, just not worth the cost to them.

The towing does disappoint me a bit so far yea. You can have great off road and still decent towing, don’t think anybody’s asking for it to be a 10-15k tow cap. Just asking for enough to tow something larger than a jet ski. I really don’t think a 5-6k tow cap would change much if any of the off-road capability. Especially if any changes are solely on a tow package.

If that thing is reliable, good for it. There are a lot more moving parts and it's a very heavy vehicle (Bronco looking at over 5000 lbs with the 35s) for a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder. I can tell you one thing, the 5.0 is just solid at this point. This is my 6th year with my 2015 Mustang (I preordered it on launch). This thing just works and works under ZERO strain for 6 years no matter what I do or how hard I drive it (hard). I have literally done nothing to it other than oil changes (full synthetic only one time per year) and putting premium gas in. Nothing else, no maintenance. Everytime I bring it in for the oil change they come back telling me wow, you're really keeping this car up well. Little do they know that I did absolutely nothing. The one thing I will say the current 5.0 has given me that none of my previous cars gave me is just reassurance. I never worry about the car. It has effortless power, it always just starts and performs the same as when I got it. Ive had a lot of cars and trucks, thats high praise. They can put the 5.0 into the Bronco easy. They put it into $30000 cars. And it would result in much lower strain on the motor with all that weight. Its a no brainer for me. Like I said. Lets see what FCA does.
who said the bronco was 5000 lbs? or was that a guess? 4400 lbs i believe for the 4dr

The V8 is NEVER going to happen...the CAFE regulations won't allow for it.

Is freaking 494 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque not enough for you? I'm going with 8:1 odds the Warthog is getting the Aviator PHEV 3L Ecoboost and I'm sure its going to have its wick turned up if needed.

The rumored V8 Wrangler would only have 450HP....
