Any other volunteer Fire/EMS Bronco owners out there? What are your plans for mounting your lightbars?
I'm thinking about attaching one with a homemade bracket to the roof rails behind the lift-out panels. Anybody working on a solution?

I'm considering dash/deck lights, but those are technically illegal in NYS. Not that anyone ever does anything about that.

C'mon Dingers!

Hey, ever end up installing any gear into your Bronco? I'd love to see suggestions and/or hear any tips, tricks, and inspiration.

Nothing special yet. I've got a windshield mounted blue light right now.
Thinking about a minibar attached to the factory roof rack somehow

TECHNICALLY anything more then 1 forward facing center mounted light is illegal BUT I don't know a single volly who follows that or has gotten in trouble (Former EMT myself here).

You should check out the new Diode Dynamics D-Switch. You can utilize it to convert your existing lighting into strobes. It won't change colors BUT could give you additional strobe lights using existing off-road lighting.

As for EMS lighting... well I used to just have a light bar on the roof of my truck (the old "V" style from an old cop car).

If I were going to do it again I'd just put some hide aways behind my grill and some visor lights inside.

Thanks for the info. And yes, not a single person follows that outdated EMS lighting restriction of one window mounted light lol. I'm pretty sure it still talks about halogens in the NJ law.

Do you happen to have any pics of the way you mounted your lightbar? I'm wondering if it's worth it to get a whelen or a fenix lightbar of some sort, or just go grill mounted whelen ion's/strobes. haven't seen any pics online of a full size lightbar mounted on the roof / roof rack.

Ohh no it's been a hot minute since I was a volunteer. So it was on another truck.

Check out our site though for some Bronco Lighting kits we sell.

I had a Federal Signal V bar but those are long gone and that was the old halogen type too, not LED.

In NYS it is technically illegal to have an emergency light only facing one direction. It must be visible 360*. Ideally I would like to stick with the one light rule, which is why I'm thinking of a minibar attached to the roof rack. I'm not the go getter I once was, so I'm not interested in doing a Christmas tree truck
