Had a concerning mishap occur when I was pulling out of work yesterday.

A bit of a clunk on the transmission when shifting into 2nd and I made a mental note. The more concerning issue came after exiting our garage, and shifting into sport mode. I pulled into a main thoroughfare and stopped with traffic. I inched forward just after that stop and got two alerts quickly flashing and a large thud - louder than the initial one I noticed. Couldn’t see both alerts as they quickly flashed and I was in traffic, but “drive mode not available” flashed across the speedometer screen. I luckily was able to shift into park and back to drive and it cleared.

I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this or heard any bulletins. I haven’t called my dealer yet to check.

I do have the 2.7 with an automatic - 2door 2022

Okay 2023 big bend 2.3. I purchased this vehicle just for this Columbus Day weekend. For the past 40 years the same people have been fishing this weekend. One of our members passed away and we were using my vehicle to take his ashes and different people to spread them on the beach. So I Started the vehicle then the service engine soon came on with check 4x4 messages. Out of all the weekends which I am leaving tomorrow.this is terrible and very sad. This was supposed to be a special gathering and with this I was all exciting about taking my new vehicle. 1465 miles. First ford in my life and it isn’t starting out right. Just wanted to vent and hope Ford sees this.

FordBot don't care, download Forscan and get an OBD-II interface, scan and clear the code. If it doesn't come back, you are likely in the clear, if it does - figure it out and make the trip. It's unlikely anything serious unless you have some mechanical symptoms in addition to the codes.

Hi Steve! I can look into your Bronco's error message concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Bronco's VIN?

Thanks, I was away. I appreciate the response. I had it so far taken care of. Looks like response was unable to communicate with AWD module. Replaced module and also a bad terminal which seems like this could be the problem. Shout out to Fred Bean Ford in West Chester PA for coming through at a time of crises for me and setting me up with an appropriate loaner to continue my celebration of life for a close friend of mine.
