Door hinge modification. Has anyone considered or attempted modifying the bronco door hinges to be more jeep like so that door removal and reinstallation is less complicated?

I’ve thought about making longer pins for the bottom so I wouldn’t need a lower bolt. But it hasn’t been warm enough to take them off yet. It really doesn’t look bad to do.

Have you removed the doors yet? It’s surprisingly easy.
I have the 2 door, I think the doors are 80lbs. Dropped one on reinstall that I thought was secure when I went to get the bolts. It's a crappy design that should drop in place like a jeep.

I live in NJ but keep my Bronco at my place in Florida so I always have limited time, tools and space to work on it but let me know if you do try something. I always think about this stuff when I'm dreaming about being back in the nice weather...

I'm in a similar boat, not with the doors but the steering... has anyone modified the steering to be more like the Jeep? Maybe a toe-out setting? Shorten the control arms? I mean, my Bronco tracks straight and doesn't give me panic attacks over 55 and I miss that from my Jeep ;)

I can get a door off in about a minute, couldn’t be easier.

Just remember that bottom alignment pin on reinstall. I didn't on my first attempt on reinstall and fought with my drivers door for 5 to 10 mins until a little light bulb went off and said hey, why don't we look this up real quick.

I did the same and dropped the door:/ Seems it could be reversed and made safer to reinstall. I keep my Bronco at a second home and do not have a garage or the proper tools/time to engineer it. Was hoping someone would take the idea and run with it...
