Thx, worked like a charm!! Had the doors off a lot last summer with no errors, 1st time this summer and this fixed the errors. You Bronco thinks the door is on - had my rear driver door do this when I pulled them off. There is a bar that makes contact between 2 of the pins in the door plugin to let the control modules know that the doors are off. When this fails to make contact, it thinks the door is on even though it's in the bag and not anywhere nearby. This is an easy fix!
Items needed:
Steps:
- Small flathead screw driver or small pocket knife
- Bit of sandpaper folded in half (grit side facing out)
- Glasses (if you're vision sucks like mine)
- Open the door cover where the door plugs into the vehicle
- Use the screwdriver or blade to push the little tab away from the 2 pins
- Clean with the sandpaper
- Use the screwdriver to make sure the bar is well pressed onto the pins
Here's a diagram (stolen off the internet) with the bit in question circled.
