On my Rubicon with a blue tooth OBII adapter I could use JSCAN in trail view mode --off the app on my phone-- to monitor engine parameters, lock my lockers, disconnect my swaybar , increase idle rpm to run the winch, and do the typical modifications I see discussed using FORSCAN. JSCAN also allowed me to bypass the OM programming to use the lockers, front and rear, in all modes of 4WD ( I could run my front locker in 4Hi) not just 4 Lo. My question being does FORSCAN have the same capabilities? I don't want to blindly buy it and be disappointed with it's capabilities.

+1 on the JSCAN, love it. Like you though I haven't tried Forscan. Following.

It's the same general idea, but JScan is a LOT more robust and is generally speaking a much more stable and feature-filled piece of software—particularly on the mobile app side of things. JScan can be used on all of the (formerly) Chrysler vehicles, but it has a lot more capabilities that tailor to the off-roading community given that Jeep owners are obviously one of the major target customers.

Forscan was originally developed back when Ford had a partnership with Sollers (Russian automobile manufacturer) to give Russian mechanics a means to work on Ford vehicles. Like JScan, it can be used on most Ford vehicles. But these days most of the "special" features are targeted towards pickup trucks owners, since Ford usually sells more pickups than all of their other vehicles combined.

I've never paid for it. The only time I've had to use it is when I purchase a new truck and need it to make a few changes. The extended demo license is perfect for this use.

You don't need to buy a license to try it out.

As far as being able to do real time changes like you're flipping a switch, no, it doesn't do that.

You SOB 🤬 🤬 You mean to tell me this JScan thing can recalibrate the speedometer in the wife's 2017 JK? Since she went from stock tires (32's maybe) up to 285's? Which I never did it because the shop wanted me to buy some $200 box (that they sell with lifts) to be able to do it.

Dammit, now I gotta look further into this. While I have you here and am stealing the thread, do TPMS in JK's auto reset like the Bronco when rotating tires?

not sure about TPMs in 2017 JK but in 2013 JK it will monitor a difference in pressure--so if one tire is lower than the rest it will tell you which one but not the actual pressure like ford. With JSCAN you can see the individual tire pressures and turn it off if you want. You can calibrate for tire size differential using your phone and the App.
