I live a distance away from a dealership or tire shop. I recently purchased a set of 33 inch takeoffs from another bronco. I was wondering how difficult it is to de-pressure, the tire and switch TPMS sensors myself?

Youll have to break the bead on the face side of the wheel. Itll take some pry bars and muscle but should be able to do. Re seating the bead should be fairly easy with a standard air pump. Ive done that on trails before. Thats assuming your take offs dont have sensors. If they do, you should be able to mount and go. They should read after driving for a bit.

Just buy new TPMS as they are cheap. I run these on my 2021 Raptor and 2022 Wildtrak. And I am getting ready to buy another set for my 2023 Warthog >> https://www.amazon.com/MOBILETRON-P...mzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc

and there's no programming needed. Just install and they will auto sync when you drive

never understood why guys always want to transfer their TPMS as it is cheaper to buy new ones. Most shops charge you anywhere from $100-$150 to transfer TPMS.

Also, if you are selling your stock oem wheels/tires, the new buyer is more prone to buy them if they have TPMS still in them

And, the OP has a rubber vale stem that he can't resuse so he has to buy a new rubber valve stem that will work with his OEM TPMS

When I bought new wheels/tires I just replaced them too. I work for a shop and used these that we keep in stock. They have to be programmed tho. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C2CSG9N...p_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWxfdGhlbWF0aWM

I bought some OBX tires/rims off Craigslist. Guy said they had the TPMS... but they didn't. Big surprise... ITS CRAIGSLIST! I guess I should have known when he sold them for $480, but I figured I still got away for about $700 with 5 TPMS installed.

Anyway, I bought the Scrader 33500 EZ-Sensor Single SKU (314.9 Mhz, 315 Mhz, and 433 Mhz) TPMS (5 of them for $23.79 each) and took them to America's Tire here in NorCal (which out East I think is Discount Tire). They charged something like $22 per tire to install and program. Everything works fine now. So it cost something like $220 including tax for five of them installed, but everything works.

Do check around though. Costco wanted about $45 per tire. That seemed to be the average in a lot of cases. I just went where I had had tires put on before, and where you could bring your own TPMS in and they'd install them. I think America's tire (even) charged about $66 for their TPMS (which I think might be the Scrader anyway).

If you want to go cheaper go with the "Mobiletron" that Raptor911 suggested. I just went with Scrader because I figured they were an OEM supplier for some brands.
