Guys, I think Ford wanted to do something different. Different doesnāt mean bad. I thought the reveal was just fine and for a new time. Ford opted to utilize the internet and since the reveal was mostly watched by guys like us; early adopters, enthusiasts, petrol heads, gear heads, nerds, etc, they respected the fact that weāve followed this vehicle for some time and would find whatever we need to know about it.
Specs donāt totally matter to me much since I (we) have seen the spy pics, obsessed on forums, any news, etc.
I do want the configurator to be live to play with, but I know itās coming soon.
Didnāt reserve since Iām getting a 2 door and know there will be plenty, plus I canāt take delivery until next summer. Reserving also didnāt allow for a full breakdown of options, but again, I know the info is coming.
Havenāt been so giddy about a car my entire life, and I only order my cars specād the way I like. Testament to how well Ford has managed the development of the Bronco. I can feel the passion and adrenaline oozing from every inch of this off-road badass!
Also think the reservation issues were likely on purpose to give the illusion of a crush of guys dying to be the first to dump their Jeeps to get one. I doubt more than 40K-50K will reserve, but even that many is very good for just this market.
Exactly my thoughts. How do they expect me to reserve something if I donāt even know how much it will cost?Im most disappointed with this. How the hell can I possibly reserve (Iām not one of these guys with unlimited budgets) or consider any trim when you canāt price it with options on the site????? Weāre not even talking reservations here!! This is just when you attempt to build and price!? Terrible![]()
This - the video seemed like an intro, destined for a followup walkaround. And it just ended.I truly enjoyed the INTRO to the Reveal event..... but there wasn't one. Seriously, after a great warmup of well done infomercials I was jazzed, expecting to watch maybe another 30 min to an hour of details on vehicle in a studio where you can actually examine it without all the hub-bub.
Nice that Ford basically gave away the farm to all the auto-industry reps to push the details through YouTube vids and e-mag articles. Just don't understand why FMC didn't include that in the reveal itself and take full credit for it.
Bottom line: at the "end" of it, I was like "That's it!?"
I get what you're saying, but with it being a completely new vehicle, with all new trim levels and option structures, it would've been nice for them to explain them a bit better.Guys, I think Ford wanted to do something different. Some of the footage featured drivers wearing masks, so I'm guessing some if not all of it was filmed during covid stuff after they realized they couldn't do the in person reveal they wanted to. Why they couldn't do the "social distance" walkaround like F-150 after that, I don't know.Personally, I felt the reveal was a huge letdown with all the hype Ford and and the online community were putting on it. It was just a long commercial. I was hoping for something with more substance.
The video was pre-recorded so they could have released the info LONG ago. Unless the videos were recorded during the quarantine, the quarantine should not have delayed the release of the video. IMO, Ford didn't need to have all those media people doing their own in person reviews. They could have sent them the information ahead of time to allow them to prep their own videos in advance.
Most people following those sites are auto enthusiasts and were already aware of the Bronco and would have been following the Ford site and channels. The sites could have reported the information after the Ford reveal and put their spin on it like TFL did since they were "uninvited". It was just way too much unnecessary effort trying to find info on the Bronco for the non-enthusiast. Every site pretty much presented the same video footage anyhow so being there "in person" really didn't provide any more value to me. I'm guessing Ford had specific instructions on what was and was not allowed to be shown. By providing the media pre-recorded video content they could have better controlled possible leaks.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited about the Bronco and its potential (not just the Bronco itself, but also what it can do for the market as a whole), but the reveal just left a bad taste in my mouth on how it was handled. Too much fluff and not enough substance directly from Ford.
I agree with you, plus I'm in my 40's and a bit old school, so I wanted a walk around as well, but I do get their desire to further build the swell and piss off Jeep and keep us excited. Remember, it's a long time until next March when the first deliveries will take place. Late March. This - the video seemed like an intro, destined for a followup walkaround. And it just ended.

You're correct. For me, I never buy a car off of a lot, have ordered cars since 2004 and that's like 8 vehicles.Ford has come out and said they are only building RETAIL orders until they are all built and then they will start building the STOCK orders for dealers lots. They want to make sure everyone gets what they want before they start doing the stock orders.
I bet the reason why they are doing pre-orders first is so they know how many of each trim level to have for parts inventory.
But unfortunately I am sure just like every other Ford pre-order we will be waiting 9 month before they even start shipping. I was in this boat for the Focus RS and the Raptor..
The reveal is in the rear view mirror now, so no point about crying over it. I wasn't planning on reserving one, but almost reserved a Badlands, but couldn't get onto the website. I went to eat and came back and did a little more researching and decided Outer Banks was more in tune with what I wanted. In the end, I decided to wait. There are too many unknowns like what color are the interiors, the price of the packages and most of all, not a clue what accessories are being offered. If reservations were as strong as it appears, some probably will be getting theirs as a Christmas present in 2021. If they got 100k reservations, that would be at least 6 months production. I have a feeling that by spring I could walk into my dealer and place an order with a high priority code and get it delivered in under 2 months. I'm willing to take my chances at this point.I agree with you, plus I'm in my 40's and a bit old school, so I wanted a walk around as well, but I do get their desire to further build the swell and piss off Jeep and keep us excited.
