Well I finally cracked and bought a Diabolical slipstream system for my 4dr Bronco (they make a 2dr version as well).

I’ve been watching the company for awhile and I finally met Alan at Carson City Super Cel this year. Super awesome guy, very enthusiastic about his product.

Spent the better part of an hour talking to him. He is a vet and used to work in the Aerospace industry and it shows in the design. Everything is well thought out and it has a few key features that stand out.

Full interior space: The system uses the factory trunk sides so you have access to the pockets still, the light and power plug. Also allows for more space.

Removable/folding rear section and top panel: This allows for modularity. Huge deal for me because I don’t want to be confined to a box in the back when I bring my dog places or have large items to transport. It’s also nice because I sleep in my Meraki hammock at night camping and if I remove both panels, I can lay the hammock out still!

The system is modular: The system is lightweight, strong (thanks to aerospace design cues)and expandable. As I use the system, I’ll be adapting it to my needs and making changes or customizing it. They have tons of accessories to add that I’ll be purchasing with time. I want to build this right though so am just starting with the base system.

Ease of install: it’s relatively easy to install but the instructions were a little outdated for the latches as they have a new design now. Be sure to not throw away the envelope as it has updated instructions in it!

I filmed the install and will put the video together soon. I’m also going to keep updating how I set this system up in the end as I figure out my setup.

Hitting the Rubicon tomorrow so I’ll report back on off-road rattle. So far, nothing around town.

I’m stoked to use this system and support an American company.

Another thing to note is I have the JCR upper shelf, let divider and MOLLE panels and it all fit together with a small modification to a bracket.

My only gripe is how difficult it is to open and close the soft top now. It’s not difficult with the hard top but soft top owners will have to adapt.

I’m going to buy the IAG soft top struts to help hold it up as the stick is harder to use now. It’s also difficult to reach the latches though if you remove a trim piece, it no longer becomes difficult. It just means you lose some of the security function

I’ve been waiting for the 2-door version to be released and I also wanted to get my hands on this prior to ordering. After seeing the demo unit slipstream at Sema yesterday I’m ordering immediately. Great guys with a high quality product! Looking forward to your install video and reports of any rattling etc.

Definitely good stuff (y) . I have been really happy with mine.
Alan is a good guy to do business with.

@popo_patty What rear cargo pad is that? It looks nice I may or may not be getting tired of my blue tarp

FYI, you have to push up on the soft top to get the slipstream back panel up all the way to clear the handles. Even with the struts. It is still a great set up. I have had it for a year. Just some minor squeaks from the pins.
