Over the weekend I installed this
https://a.co/d/9kuLWyL

It is a wired camera with a decent sized screen and resolution and pretty wide angle of view. Mounted it on the front license plate (which is attached to the HD bumper) and wired to AUX6. I also intentionally aimed it very low to see immediately in front of the truck.

Overall happy with how it turned out and how it performs. The screen is easy to see even in bright sunlight and the distance markers (which are adjustable) are helpful in tight parking situations. The AUX6 switch turns on the camera instantly withoit any delay.

The only complaint is that the wiring very high gauge and I suspect that the exposed bits of it above the license plate will UV degrade very quickly. I will probably go back in this weekend and put some shrink wrap on these areas or wrap them up in several layers of electrical tape.

They sell the camera with larger screens too but I wanted something compact that I can mount out of the way in the upper left corner of the front windshield.

That looks great! 👊 Question, how did you mount your license plate? What bumper is that?

That is the HD modular bumper, and I am using the DV8 bracket. Over-engineered and needlessly expensive, but it works. BTW, I have since replaced the camera with something completely different. The FOV of this particular camera was insufficient for my needs.

I see. I would love to get a similarly located bracket for my plastic bumper. What camera setup did you go with?

Don't remember the details. I did a very detailed write up called "battle of the cheap cameras" or some such

PS from what I understand.the plastic bumper is very easy to drill so you should be able to mount a license plate bracket almost anywhere

Drilling is what I don't want to do :) Have a builtrightind mount on order. Let's see how that works out. Could you point me to the camera write-up? Thanks!
