Why are all these dealers that I’m dealing with clueless about the bronco, ordering, allocations, price etc.... my assigned dealer won’t tell me how they will be pricing the bronco and they have no clue what they’re talking about. I just called another local dealer that I heard was offering a good deal and they were clueless too it almost felt like they did t want my business. You think these dealers would be happy to get my 56k. Idk...

I think what it usually boils down to is that the sale tomorrow doesn't matter if you can't make any sales today... so it does you no good to sit on your computer researching tomorrow's sale to the detriment of selling what's on the lot now.

For the record, I'm not disagreeing with your consternation... it's just that we have the privilege of being experts in a single vehicle that still isn't even in production yet, and the dealership has to be experts* in all the vehicles that are currently on the lot.

I think it's generally a fair bet that in any given conversation about the Bronco we have with a dealer, we are going to be the subject matter expert in the room.

*term used loosely.

I get what you’re saying and I wouldn’t even really consider myself and expert but based on my conversation with the dealers I could be wrong. I’m just looking for pricing like hey we’re pricing msrp +1000 or msrp -1000 and we have x reservations. I just had a salesman tell me that no local dealership was going to tell me what they’re pricing the bronco at and the he followed up that I was free to switch to them if I called Ford. I was like why would I switch with no info.

attempting to read through all the posts as its an exciting time in this forum! I just got off the phone with my dealer in the Bay Area and "some how" I've been removed from their email updates. When I asked him about next steps, I was told to go onto the Ford price and build site, design my Bronco, print it and bring it in with $1,000 deposit to secure the build.

I don't recall reading of others paying $1,000 at this point. Am I missing a thread? Have others been asked for a $1,000 deposit?

Deposit is 100% up to the Dealer.

Ford apparently told dealers that they should consider asking for one, and recommended $500, because of the penalties the dealer incurs for built broncos that are not sold to the reservation holder (so the dealer really wants to make sure that if you order a bronco, and it gets built, you'll still buy it when it comes in)...

Ford then publicly stated that people should emotionally prepare for their dealer to require a deposit...

But because it's not required, different dealer's are handling it different ways... some zero deposit, some large amounts, some refundable, some non-refundable.

Remember, because it's up to the dealer, it's technically negotiable.... though they may have internal "policies" that dictate how they typically handle these things (retail orders).

Also, remember that if you cancel your Bronco order before it is scheduled to be built* (when the VIN is assigned and about 2 weeks before it is built), it's just cancelled with no penalties to you or the dealer.... This is a strong argument for making the deposit refundable.

(* This is also the time when you can no longer change options of your order. Up until this point you can edit your order.)
