CV joint issue

Hi all,
For the past few weeks I’ve noticed a pronounced clunk coming from my front passenger side wheel area when turning the wheel to or from full lock. Today I crawled underneath to check out the area and I discovered that the CV boot isn’t properly secured in place and there’s heavy grease everywhere.

I recently had my bronco in for the front driveshaft recall. Does anyone know if there’s a known issue or recall for the front CV joints/half shafts too? Hopefully this would at least be covered under warranty.

No, there is not. Warranty will probably depend on your dealership.

If it were just the boot & grease issue it wouldn't be too bad to fix, but the clunking should be of some concern. Take it to your dealer and hope the warranty is honored.

My CV boot split and I noticed grease on the ground one day. Took it to my dealer and they replaced the entire CV under warranty.
