Sucks to hear all these high rates. Such a bummer how things are now.
I picked up my Bronco in October '21 and my rate is 2.5% with around 730 rating.

Agree. I got 1.9 on my Subaru in 2018. Paid it off in 3. Then, it made sense to finance and keep your cash in the markets earning interest above the 1.9. Not so, with the current rates. I'm sending my "car payment" back to my savings to pay myself back in 3 years rather than pay $9000 more for my car in financing.

Sadly economics is not taught in high school. Buy what you can afford..... Real Estate 1st and 2nd. Cars come later,..,.
Honestly, if you are worried about interest rates, you probably can't afford it.
Dude….to follow a message that basically said that financial advice isn’t what was asked for….further financial advice was provided. 🤷‍♂️

All I could get is 6% interest. However if you put your amount into a calculator and do the numbers crunching In spreadsheet you can figure out car payment and interest over time. Difference in 5 and 6% didn’t really affect payment much.

After crunching numbers I settled on a 3 year loan. I pay an extra $850 on principal. My loan has dropped rapidly and have paid very little interest. I should have Bronco paid off very early so I can order the new Ranger. 😉

So far, after looking at every local credit union (within my county) that I'm eligible for and the national ones (Penfed &, etc.).

Capital One's rates are slightly better. Looking at 5%( disgusting) exact for a 60-month loan.

At least with Capital One, you can do pre-approval now - and it's only a soft pull (Hard, obviously, when you start the loan process at the dealership). It's good for 30 days. You can also see your rates depending on loan terms and variables.

My Bronco shows up on their vehicle search as it's listed on my dealer's website. So, I can play around with numbers on my exact vehicle.

At my school, we teach a personal finance class. Doesn't mean kids pay attention, though.
Isn't this the truth.

It was taught when I was in high school as well. I now realize the people on my social media accounts (personal observation coming) bitching about not teaching personal finance type subjects were also the people not giving a shit during class back in the day.

Again, just anecdotal on my part, but thought it was interesting. I also have people I interact with who paid attention in school and are absolutely terrible with personal finances. :ROFLMAO:🤷‍♂️

Why do some folks always want to give financial advice when this type of question is asked? We’re in a Bronco forum, the whole car and parts are not a good financial decision. Why don’t those folks buy a Honda on Craigslist with 100k+ miles?

Interesting topic. Just checked our CU where I got 1.75% 60mo on our OBX exactly a year ago and now see they are at 5.75%. The only good news is you can get 5.5% on a CD so maybe an option for some.
