Thank you for the feedback. I wanted them up high. I havent done a lot of wheelin... yet. My twin and his wife bought a couple of jeeps so I am gearing up for some adventures.

Love it! I think @Turn Offroad is looking to do something similar with their new hard top and some available accessories that'll come afterwards. I think this is a great utilization of space.

Wow....So those are similar to the Mabett ones.......where did you buy the lights and how did you do the instal??

I wish I would have made a video. I bought some cheap chase lights off of amazon, they didnt work. so I bought some covers for the hatch hinge covers, disassembled the leds from the housing, keeping the controller(cigarette lighter switch). Sandwiched the lens of the led on the outside and the leds on the inside. Routed the wiring along the top, Crimped the wires, tested.

The first set I made were horrocious. These are better for sure. Ill start recording more now that I have a channel up. Its mainly about our Corvette, Bronco, and trips.

How ironic, I was just thinking yesterday evening how I haven’t really seen any third brake light replacements that could be doubled as Brakes, reverse and Chase, the brackets already there to modify from and it’s high up already too.. seems like a no-brainer to make one.

I saw someone made one on amazon, but the white back up lights were on full time until the brake was applied, then it would turn red. Might have been easier to purchase that one and modify the white leds to amber.

Rigid Industries makes one - It replaces the 3rd brake light and puts it essentially in the centre of the spare tire, so slightly lower than OEM.

However, it acts as a 3rd brake light, back up light, and chase light.

That was one of the turn-off's for me as well. I ended up going another route, but I'm sure with enough time, effort, and money, anything is possible!
