Hi everyone,

How sure are we that we will get a notice from Ford saying we will be model year 22 due to XXXX component - AND that then we can change the build - to get sooner delivery?

As sure as we are about any other claims Ford had made so far. Anyone remember the statement Ford made saying that the contrast stitching and colored accents could be optioned to gray in all models?

They still show the active shutter grill for the Wildtrak on their website. Both picture and description, but it was switched to the BL grill (but black painted) six months ago.

Ordering mod top get you that painted grill and mirror caps like the website says?
Yes/no/maybe so...

We could play this game for hours... I trust Ford's materials and promises about the Bronco just slightly less then Venezuelan currency.

Do you remember where Ford made the claim about changing accents to gray? I don't remember that one.

And I the Build & Price tool is supposed to have a large update in March. We'll see.

So my real question is - do we believe that Ford will come back after March 19th and say - "Broncolli ordered the 2.7 and it will be delayed because of that - does he want the 2.3 instead and get a June delivery?"

Do we think they will follow up like that and look after the reservation holders?

Reservation system aside, this whole process boils down to a typical vehicle special order but on a much larger scale. Your dealer should be able to go into your order and be able to see what's holding it up. They also get periodic updates on constrained components.

So, while we will probably only get an estimated delivery date from Ford directly, WBDO should have more context on why we've gotten that date.

Probably not. I’m fairly certain that trying to get nearly 200k reservations sorted ( from about 170k folks that keep changing things up every week) they probably don’t know which way to turn... 🙂

There is no way they could manage the changes and scheduling if they emailed every individual who ordered a Bronco and had some late availability configuration.

I believe they will look at the volume of orders after March 19th and then send everyone an email indicating roughly when your order is scheduled. I also suspect they will be able to confirm at that time if something in your config is delaying the build but you’ll need to go back to your dealer to make changes if you care to. Then you’ll need to wait for an updated build date once they can reschedule it.
Regardless, it’s not realistic to think you’ll be working the process directly with Ford. It’ll be the dealer. That’s my thoughts on the topic.

No, I seriously doubt they have the resources to devote to that level of detail. I'd think the most you could hope for is an update that you either *are* scheduled for the next quarter's build and given an estimated build date or that you are told you won't be and a rough timeframe as to when you might expect the next update.

Nope, that would be a logistical nightmare.

I wish it were that simple but unlike a normal custom order, the largest hold up is actually going to be this little thing called dealer allocation.

So even IF ford gets it right (which we know they won't), are they even going to take into consideration that your Bronco would be delayed regardless.

It would be crazy to change your wants based on Ford's notice, only to find out it made no difference in your actual delivery.

My dealer explained it this way: I'm somewhere in line based on my reservation timestamp. When the orders are all in on the 19th, Ford will slot things based on timestamp and groupings (making more Badlands at the same time, etc) and we will get an estimated window. Let's pretend I get emailed with a forecasted August production slot.

When it gets closer, my dealer says I will get another email if there is some supply issue. "Hey, your order includes: Lux Package, 2.7L. These items are currently unavailable. Respond by _____ if you would like to proceed with your build without these components. Otherwise, your order will be moved to next month" ....or something. I'm ad-libbing.

He told me if I want the 2.7, order the 2.7 and roll the dice I just get it without issue, because there *will* be an opportunity to say nevermind. Again....all according to him.
