I'm not so good with loans/contracts. To anyone that has gotten a loan through Granger, I have a question:

Is it the case that you only pay the interest accrued while you still owe on the loan principle? And if you were to pay the principle off early, then you would have only paid interest on the months that you owed the principle?

For example, if after 6 months, you decided to pay off your loan in full, you would have paid in total: cash price of Bronco + interest accrued over 6 months? That's all - no other hidden or surprise costs/fees?

Most loans work that your are paying interest each month on whatever the current loan balance is that month at a rate of whatever your yearly interest rate is, divided by twelve.

The only question you need to ask is: "Are there any early-payment (early pay off) penalties."

Just make sure you ask that before you sign the dotted line. Nowadays it is very rare for lenders to include penalties for paying off early, but it doesn't hurt to double check.

Re: DMV

Granger sent me the title paperwork, I went to the DMV, took a number and sat down. My number got called in under 2 minutes, spent at most 5 minutes signing things for the lady, and walked out with new plates for my Bronco. In and out in under 10 minutes. Granger made it simple.

The finance charge is as follows:
"We will figure the Finance Charge on a daily basis at the Annual Percentage Rate on the unpaid part of the Amount Financed."

I think that means what you said above about payment?

In terms of Prepay:
"You may prepay all or part of the unpaid part of the Amount Financed at any time without penalty. If you do so, you must pay the earned and unpaid part of the Finance Charge and all other amounts due up to the date of your payment."

What do you make of the above? The term earned and unpaid part of the Finance Charge confuses me. I think it means any earned (by the loan company) interest accrued since the last monthly payment. For example, if the customer pays off the loan early, the customer must pay for any outstanding interest accrued from the time of the prior month payment? But the customer is not on the hook for the full interest that would have accrued if the loan went full term? (I don't know what all other amounts due means.)

I'm envious. My wait today was around 2 hours but I'm also good to go now

Correct. When you are ready to pay off the loan, you'll need to contact the holder of the loan for a payoff amount. A large amount will often be handled at a payment processing facility and not a local branch. The financial institution will often require the payoff amount along with the payment quote to be sent expedited. If the payment isn't received/processed within the quoted time frame, then you'll owe additional amount of interest based on the delay. Now, if it is a small amount (under $5k), then it can be handled at a local branch.

My Bronco was shipped to CA and arrived Friday. I received a UPS overnight packet of documents from Granger yesterday and plan to head to the DMV this afternoon or tomorrow morning as I've now completed smog and DMV weighing. The package included the Iowa in-transit title, 30 day transit tag, and the check made out to the CA DMV (nice surprise, I thought the check was going to be mailed to DMV which would have delayed things).

I'll report back to let you know how it goes but my understanding is I have all the docs I need for CA DMV and Granger isn't sending them anything directly.

For anyone who has gone through the process with CA DMV, did you need any paperwork other than the following?
- Purchase Agreement
- Iowa In-Transit title and transit tag
- Check made out to CA DMV
- Proof of insurance
- Smog paperwork
- Weight paperwork
- Completed Reg 343 Form
- Reg 31 Form (to be completed by DMV)
Been two weeks as of tomorrow and no paperwork. Don't understand why the smog and weight paperwork. Did you have to go to a smog station and pay $50? The weight shouldn't matter since I'm not registering it as a commercial vehicle or truck. I've got the 343 ready to go I'm just waiting on the stuff from Granger.

Hey, peeps! Checking back in to this conversation. I had picked up my Bronco in early December and drove it back to Upstate NY (in great weather, unbelievably). 14k miles and I still love it.
Congratulations to Zach and his crew for their hard work and success. I would absolutely buy from Granger again, and I tell people around here that too!

Hey Neighbor , nice looking Bronco.

I think ours might be the one on the left in the shot of the two A51 Badlands 2DRs in your pics. Can't wait. Going to pick it up the 16th and drive back to Utah over Fathers Day weekend.

It turns out smog was required (CA requires this for all vehicles purchased outside CA) but weightmaster certificate was not. I had called DMV earlier and they told me both were required. Good luck, I'm sure your docs will arrive soon.

Well we made it back home. 1900 miles, 19.3 mpg, 3 flash floods, some sightseeing and a sasquatch sighting. I would like to give a shout out to @Zach@Granger and for being such a stand up person and to his team! Samantha and Catelyn were great to work with and to Albert, god rest your soul….. who started this journey with us.

Th original plan was to meet up in Iowa with my daughter and my grandkids from Illinois and pick up the Bronco…. Fast forward 3 years of uncertainty and change. During this time both my dad and my wife were diagnosed with cancer. We went on a journey but not the one we intended. Then our daughters husband landed a great job overseas and they left. What was born from excitement quickly became a thorn of contention.

We had almost given up on the bronco but through Zach’s communication on B6g we held steady. I stayed with the 2dr basemansquatch through thick and thin. My wife and dad are doing well and our bronco was born! We flew to Iowa and drove back home with a few stops along the way.

Thank you Granger and B6g for being there during some trying times! Thank you @Ford for building the Bronco and I hope you all get yours soon!!!

I wish I knew if the paperwork was sent to me or to DMV. I thought it was to me but haven't seen anything and emails and calls to Granger have not been answered.
Nothing for me yet either, as of today.
