I have never done a buy back process although I would think the dealer would facilitate it if you qualify. Definitely read up on the Lemon Laws for your state. Be prepared for it to take a while. Sorry you got a bad one but it happens. Have you tried another dealer to figure out the issue? I had to do this on a defective transmission on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler. Two out of three dealers could not figure out the issue. Third dealer replaced the transmission.

On another note I have used BBB on two occasions- a bad engine rebuild by a shop and a body shop that ripped me off for 15K. BBB made some noise but didn't really help in the long on either occasion. I had to eat the $$$.

My wife's cousin just did the buy back earlier this year in CT. Her 2021 AMB Bronco (not sure of package) had some issue with the vacuum system they never worked out. She got her new 2023 Bronco about the same time I got mine in late July/Early August, So it took a few months. She said that her priority code was placed higher than the highest dealer code, so below a 10?

Curious to know what happened with your situation. My Bronco has been at dealership for almost 4 months with a gateway module failure. I'm going through possible buyback option but its a big lowball and with current rates, the chances of getting another one are slim to none. Replacement vehicle was not an option when I initiated a claim through the BBB. I'm starting to chat with a lawyer but its hard to know if I let this Bronco sit on lot, if there will ever be a replacement part. There seems to be no ETA from Ford Parts as it's a third party part.
BBB is useless. Hire an experienced lemon law attorney.

Did you just go through dealer for this? I went through BBB and off of that Ford approved buyback but I probably would've been better off with replacement vehicle. Especially given trying to buy a new one now with finance rates is even more money down the drain. Did y'all hire a separate lawyer for this.

As stated in my first line, my wife's cousin did this, it wasnt me. I am not sure how she and her husband worked it out. All I know is that they enacted the Connecticut Lemon Law, and their original Bronco went away, and she got a new 2023 White 4DR Badlands I believe. We don't see them very often, and my wife just has talked to her though facebook. I know aboutbher priority level because theirs was being built at the same time as mine.

So, while I see this is an old thread, I think this is something I need to consider. My 2022, bought new in August of 2022, had a software brake failure in which I lost brakes and I guess brake vacuum and the vehicle wouldn't restart to replenish the vacuum, so down a hill I went until a tree braked the Bronco and then breaked the Bronco. This happened over two months ago, been sitting at the dealer waiting on this "Field Service Engineer" and I'm wondering if I'm just in a waiting game to see if I will go away. I say software brake failure, but mechnically the vehicle is fine, no physical damage, just wouldn't restart and wouldn't brake. I drove it straight home and then to the dealership on Nov. 20. My issue with this is I continue to pay payments and insurance on this vehicle and even if everything goes well and Ford claims responsibility as they should, they still need to actually fix it, I'd guess that's another month + and provide me the explanation on what happened and if they can fix it. They mentioned a TSB that sends low voltage signal which doesn't allow restarts, but they said my battery was fine and it does this as a faulty code, but they came short of claiming it directly caused the accident, although, it lines up basically perfectly with what happened. I live in Florida and our law says three times, but what does that mean? I have to get into three accidents before I can claim a Lemon Law issue? I love the Bronco, but my wife, I and my daughter will be driving it, so I kind of need it to be a safe vehicle. Ford doesn't seem to care much so far, so I'm just trying to consider all my options.

An alternative to the buy back process is to see if you can trade the vehicle in. Depending on what you paid, you might do ok. I paid $40k for my 2023 Bronco (MSRP $51,270) and traded it in for $49k with 5k miles, add in an additional $2500 I had in a private offer, and I was up $11,500 on a truck which was marked down $4000 off sticker ($53k).

I ended up feeling pretty good after the papers were signed. My principal, interest, and payment were all lower than where I started (by about $100/month). So see what you can wrangle and check if you have any private offers.
