With tuning unlocked for everyone who is ready to see a built motor project come together? At ZFG Racing LLC, not only have we been leading the way from a tuning standpoint on the 3.0l Nano engines, but I have also invested in engine development. We have both a 9.5 and 10.5:1 (stock) compression option for the 3.0l and the connecting rods to go with it. I will be sending this into the machine shop next week once I figure out what is needed for main studs. I do like this lower block design a lot better than Explorer. There shouldn't be a need for an extra girdle.

Not needed on these, they have a deep sump.
I wasn't interested necessarily in greater capacity but rather a more robust unit. Not a fan of the plastic pans that Ford is so fond of. I'd love a better drain location and one that uses an old school, threaded plug instead of the plastic piece.

Why the need for the built motor? Does the 3.0 not hold up when tuned/modded? I haven’t been paying attention.

They do hold up in that 650-700 rwhp area looking to go beyond that and increase the fatigue life.

10.5:1 is the stock compression on a raptor. The explorer is 9.5.

Sorry should have specified further. What power are you shooting for with the stock compression not interested in the lower compression unit.

Definitely following. I geek out on this stuff so the more interesting details you can share (with photos!) the better.

everything is sized for 1100 plus. But we do not know every failure point yet so we will slowly work our way up. there are also a lot of other factors on how well the motor will hold up.

Is this an assembled short block or just a rods and pistons kit?
