Are you guys using a mounting bracket or just direct mount? Haven't got my Bronco yet so not sure how that really works. I was looking at these. Not too bad at $75 but then $30 shipping

i used the bracket that came with the DD's but am ordering the ones you listed because of the offset. It will move them outboard away from the antenna. For now i just removed the antenna and put in an amazon plug. Looking to install some ditch lights, but have no desire to spend thousands or even hundreds of dollars on them. As they will be more for looks than used. I've had my far share of Amazon lights, some good some bad. I am looking for recommendations for some decent if there is such a thing Amazon led lights. I know I can't be the only person who is like minded. Thanks

These are probably the way to go for style and function and the price doesn't beat you down either. Plus you get a wiring harness and support from a company that also supports the forum. It's a win/win.

Plus mounting brackets and wiring harness. Once you add those in you are a lot closer to a (presumably) higher quality product. Admittedly i know nothing about cali raised but DD is a well known brand.

I was just pointing out that you aren't comparing apples to apples from a cost perspective. Of course it is cheaper when it comes with less stuff and is lower quality with a much shorter warranty. The fact is the DD are a great deal for the quality, contents, and the cost.

I have these as bumper lights, but they would work fine for ditch lights. $99 for Solid construction, very nice harness, and cool amber backlight. Beam pattern and throw is short for a driving light, but would be good for ditches.

How well do the covers perform compared to just buying the yellow lights? Would you say they're 75% as effective? More? Less? Just curious.

Not 100% sure. There is a bit of loss of light since it's going through a 2nd lens system now. Also, it's not a YELLOW diode going through the lens.

Diodes Dynamics white lights have white LED diodes going through white lenses
Diode Dynamics yellow lights have yellow LED diodes going through yellow lenses

So you'll be taking a white light, going through a yellow lens and it won't be as good. THEN AGAIN you'll have MORE light (the white LEDs put out a bit more light over their yellow version).

To give you an idea, my SS3 Max that are on my own bronco, they are actually SS3 WHITE lights but i've put the YELLOW lenses on, as i wanted THE MOST light i could get (not street legal though anymore).

Sooo if you want yellow lights, get them from the start that way.

If you want white but want to experiment with the yellow, get the covers and/or a spare set of lenses to play with.

This is probably a dumb question, but I just don't have much experience with this. How difficult would these be to wire if I don't have the Aux switches in my Bronco? I'm assuming at the very least I'd need to drill and install a switch in the dash...

You'd need to connect the included harness to your battery and then run the included switch into your cab (through the firewall) and find a place to install the switch on your dash.
