Got tired of waiting for the Bronco and bought a Tacoma. 2022 TRDOR 6' bed with an automatic. My 2nd Tacoma. The 1st was the same truck but the 2016 version. Got rid of the 2016 because I hated the engine/transmission combination. Well the 2022 is no better. The NA 3.5 is a dog and the automatic drops 2 gears going over any slight incline and sometimes on a flat straight line.

2023 base bronco arrived and I love it. Had no intention of keeping it since I had already purchased the Tacoma but after driving it I was hooked. 7 speed is so much fun and the 2.3 has more than enough power. As mentioned not an apple to apple comparison but if you don't need truck bed its Bronco for the win.

The 2dr Bronco is a nice drive. Get yourself a Badlands and it's already at a good height and has BFG KO2s. These vehicles drive really smooth. Plenty of power between the he 2.3 and 2.7. The new Tacoma coming out looks good, but so does the Colorado.

Wait for the new Taco. You will prolly end up with a Bronco lemon and won’t be happy.

Honestly the only reason I could think of to even consider a Taco is because you can get a stick shift.

If driving an automatic... Ford's auto is lightyears ahead of Toyota's, as is the engine.

Ford's auto isn't great, unless you put it in sport mode, but the Toyota is notorious for hunting gears. They are miserable to drive.

Funny you should ask this question. When i ordered my bronco in November 2021 i sold my Honda accord and drove our third vehicle the 2014 Toyota tocoma base model. It was great driving it but slow af. That was the most annoying part of owning it. I got my bronco three weeks ago and it’s so nice to have some power behind it now. The tocoma is nice and rode well but it’s no comparison to the bronco. But it’s our third vehicle and it has its needs too.

Tacoma will be a more comfortable ride from the longer wheelbase and the fixed roof being quieter. The bronco will definitely be more fun to drive. Each have their sacrifices, but you're obviously going to get a biased answer in this forum.

What’s the towing capacity of your Taco?

If you don’t know or don’t care to know - buy the Bronco.

But if towing capacity is meaningful to you, maybe a Bronco is not for you.

Plus the loss of a pickup bed as mentioned above. But in all other ways you’ll be happier in a Bronco.
