Any of y’all have experience with adhesive tape that will stick well for 3-4 hours, but release without damaging clear coat?

We have a local homecoming parade coming up to show off one of our lovely young ladies out here and, as I’m sure you husbands understand, I now must adhere some poster paper to the Bronco. 😔

I use blue painters tape these days to avoid trouble with tape release and residue. Not sure how well it will work on a car with sun though. Whatever you do, stay away from duct tape.

Blue or green painters tape. Back in the day before PPF we would cover the front bumpers and fender edges with blue tape before we would make a road trip for a show. It came off with ease and any residue was easily removed with soap and water.

Get Gaffers tape. Used in facilities for taping down cords during concerts. No residue left. Not sure though about on clear coat. Works great for wood floors.

If the tape will be sitting in the sun/heat for a while it will also increase the chance of leaving residue on the paint.

I'd recommend buying a small sheet of PPF, putting a small piece of that on the paint where you plan on putting the tape, and then sticking the tape onto it.

I put small strips of PPF under all of my accessories that use double sided tape to protect the paint/plastic under it and I've never had any issues with it.

From my experience with tapes, I think all tape when heated will leave a residue. Gaffers tape is great but leave a residue. The saran wrap idea posted by a member sounds like a pretty safe idea.
