So I'm pulling into my road tonight, and I get the message that my front camera and pre collision assist are not working. Um, dude you are a BASE, you don't have them... ...

Base does have them. It's alerted me a couple times when I was driving like a jackass. It won't brake for you but it'll let you know you're coming in hot using some electronic battleship game effects.

I had it go off in my Base a couple times this week when I was weaving in traffic. I had no idea the Base had it and the graphics are hilarious.

Had this happen around 3,000 miles when i was on the beach sending it on a few small jumps. Confused me at first then went away, but then i lost all use of goat modes. 4x4 and lockers worked but no swaybar disc or drive modes were selectable. My reader now gives me an error u0164 and u0401. Dealership had it for 3 days and only fixed the first error code and got my goat modes to work along with swaybar but second error is still there. No CEL on dash and no problems driving it so its fine with me.

Had mine go off in a tight traffic maneuver a couple days ago in my Base and surprised me. Just found out the sensor in the windshield also requires calibration when replacing the windshield. This basically doubles the cost of windshield replacement to about 1K for something I didn’t ask for or want. Safety police everywhere. Can I just get a base vehicle? No nanny shit, please? No internet, Sirius, collision assist, brake assist, traction control BS? I wonder how much $$$ is added for all of these amenitie?

I’ve lobbied for a Bare Bones type of Bronco with very limited items. I even submitted thru Ford’s idea channels. They said no to the idea 🤣

I think the belief is that everyone WANTS all the electronics and amenities, however everyone discounts how many of us would buy a Bronco that has only minimal electronics.

Oh well….The only way to get something like that is for a whole lot more people asking for it.

I don't have my bronco yet, but am with you 💯. I don't even want the digital dash or the screen! Really wish there was a tech delete option....would even pay a bit MORE for it!

Man, I would buy that in a heart beat. All of that tech seems to be so intertwined that doing after the fact would be a nightmare. You would basically have to strip it and start over and for one ain't got the money/skill/time for that! Plus who know the gremlins that would show up...
I just want a simple off roader that has some modern features for a smoother ride while retaining reliability 😁

The thing you don’t want are free but funded by taxes. You only paid for what you wanted. Capice?

Lol

It just seems that we are so caught up in electronic everything. A simple light switch becomes a switch to the ecu to a relay to the led bulb. A simple cable operated E brake becomes a signal via switch to an ecu to a servo to pull a cable etc…..Why did we abandon KISS?

Regulations drive a lot, I’m sure. We need lots of computing help meeting the EPA stuff. The safety stuff gets legislated as manditory.

All of this becomes a real snafu when you can’t get microchips. Also subjected to latent defects and stray emf issues.

I hate to say it but your brake pedal isn’t even real on a 2.7 (unless all electrical power is lost)
