Bronco damaged in transit. What should I do?

So I got my build week back in march. I was super excited. Dealer told me my bronco had arrived at the train yard and we could start doing paperwork that way I could just pick it up when it was ready. Big mistake. Turns out it wasn’t actually here (didn’t get unloaded and kept on going to the other side of the state long story for another time) so now I have done paperwork waiting for the bronco to arrive. It does, but damaged! Dent in the hood and grill broken along with some other things that I don’t have pictures of. Dealership says that they are going to replace everything including the hood. But with what I have been told by a lot of car painters that it is never going to match 100% because of the tri coat that I got on mine. Since I have already done paperwork do I ask for compensation? Or suck it up and take the loss? Figure of all places someone on here might have had similar experiences. Thanks!

Just get it fixed and rock on. The Bronco is no beauty queen. Stuff happens all the time. Let the dealer fix it and enjoy. Or give it up and let someone else enjoy it.

Your dealer should have no problem matching the tri-coat.

The issue with tri-coats is as they oxidize and age, they are very hard to match. New paint shouldn't be a problem, it's when something is 4-5 years old.

I would be amazed if the hood was attached to the vehicle when it was painted.

Take it and enjoy……if you are concerned, with the market the way it is on these Broncos order a 2023 and you probably wont lose a dime if you trade it next year!!!

Completely modular vehicle. Grill takes like 10 min to replace. Hood is the same. So you actually got very lucky. I know it would be better if it was your choice to do it on your time, but embrace that it’s here and easy enough to fix.
I actually have replaced my grill and my hood so I may be bias.
This gives you a chance to customize if you want. The grill they will order will be primed but not painted. You can have them paint a different color. Cost me $500 for Grill and $300 to paint so you got options now vs. stock.
Check out the Ram Air Hood from Advanced Fiberglass. Maybe you want one of those and they can just give you money towards that.
Good luck… sorry it wasn’t ideal but you can make some lemonade from it If everything else is good.

Definitely let the dealer fix it and take delivery. If you‘re unhappy after driving it a little, you can always sell it and get your money back.

If you don’t take delivery, your dealer will still fix it but will sell it to someone else with a big mark-up, and you’ll go back to the end of the line, waiting on a new order.

Let them fix it, then drive it and either enjoy it or sell it.

in the industry, paint will match, no blends should bee needed either due to the body line on the fenders.

My Bronco was delivered to dealership on March 11. But was damaged in shipping.

Both the tailgate and rear bumper was damaged. The tailgate ended up being on back order for a month and half.

once it got back to the dealership there was another week delay in getting the aftermarket wheels, tires, trailer hitch and rear drawer installed, so I talked with the owner and he gave me 1,000 off my wheels.

The paint job was excellent. I have the carbonized grey.

There was another Bronco at the body shop that had been damaged as well. Apparently it happens often

In 3 months you’ll have forgotten that this ever happened and you definitely wouldn’t be able to spot any difference in the paint.

Tri-Coat isn't difficult to match. A competent painter won't have an issue matching the color.

FWIW, I had to have a front passenger door replaced after being hit in a parking lot. I was worried about the Rapid Red matching.

They blended into the rear door and front fender and it came out real nice.
