I ordered the Redline armrest/console cover to match my WildTrak interior in Black/Stone (Ford’s “Standstone”) w/ light blue stitching. Besides the year and a half aged and darkened difference, it’s a perfect match! She’ll blend in in time. Yes, I had to remove and separate the armrest cover pieces. Pretty simple actually, if you read the online instructions. Yes, I used spray adhesive to bond it over the original cover. I sprayed just the very top section of the leather cover, not side or front or back, and centered and pressed the lid onto the leather piece after it tacked up a bit. I then sprayed both the rest of the leather cover, the sides and bottom wrap part, and I also sprayed the sides and bottom of the original lid and let that dry almost completely as you would contact cement. There were relief cuts in the leather, and I then carefully worked my way around, pressing the edges and then the bottom wrap. Reassembled the 2 halves of the lid and reinstalled it on the console. What a quality piece! Beautiful leather that matches my interior. $50 well spent especially compared to the pleather elastic strap Amazon pieces. THIS is how my armrest should have come from the factory, not the dark charcoal gray with the painters, tape, blue spatter, and specs.
