But whatever, what I want to know is who makes the best/toughest replacement glass? I’d rather pay out of pocket for a beast of an aftermarket windshield and add protection film over that than let my insurance buy me a cheap ass replacement and have to do it again in a year. I’ll reread this thread to see if this was already answered but please reply with if you have a good

I don’t think there are really any options, at least yet. You get your choice of OEM, which has “Accessory Ready” and 1966 stickers, or you get generic, which is made in the same factory from the same mold, just without the stickers, and $300 less

Exoshield is just about the only optional addition I’ve seen that ~might~ help.

I am NEVER buying a Honda Civic again! I bought my daughter a 2025 Civic Hybrid and less than a month later it has a cracked windshield! My advice stay away from Honda unless you own a glass company!!!

I get it! If I got a buck from every cracked windshield I got on my Jeep Wranglers, going back 25 years, I'd be a wealthy man. It's just a reality with the windshield angle on these vehicles. I can tell you this: the Jeep guys don't bellyache about it.

The only thing that bugs me though is all the tech that potentially needs to be re-calibrated when a windshield is replaced. I'm not sure if that comes into play with my stripped-down Big Bend though.

My windshield is fine so far but the front lip of my hood has a paint chip. Complete waste of money. I smell a class action lawsuit.
