So I was trying to install my TrailRax roof rack today, as I was tightening the lock nut on the screw it sheared right off. Anyone else have this happen to them? Looking for help on how to fix the bolt.
Any welders out there? How do you remove the welds ?

There may be info Here
The torque spec for the roof rack fasteners is only 7.7 ft lb, just so you know for future reference

That bracket may not be welded to the roof. It may have been attached with an adhesive. Otherwise, I don't think it would be available as a serviceable part.

Update

In case this happens to anyone else, I was not as fortunate to have my warranty claim approved. The reason from Ford was that I over torque the stud which caused it to break. And to make matters worse the body shop has no idea on how to resolve the issue. They have to do some research on how before they could even quote me a price. So I just order the part from ford and I have a buddy that owns a body shop and he is going to fix it. He is has so super strong adhesive, so Im going to try that route first. Knowing that I will have to keep an eye out for it.
