Is the front skid plate on the Braptor aluminum and is it a direct bolt on to a badlands?

On the coast and interrested in going aluminum.

Thank you,

Are you positive? They look very much like aluminum.
I'm not 100% positive, but according to many walk-around videos I've seen, and the order guide they are steel.

I'm driving buy the dealership this weekend, and they have a Raptor sitting out front waiting for the steering recall to be done, so I'll bring along a magnet and investigate.

Magnet - indeed, check it out. Definitely some of the skid plates more directly horizontal on the underbody are steel, so that may explain this wording.

Maybe an owner can beat you to it and save you a trip...

Thanks, I was reasonably sure this one is aluminum (it surely is not non-magnetic stainless steel...).

So, it may be Aluminium?

Any deep shiny scratches by chance?

Thank you

I would bet on it 1000:1 being Al. If it is non-magnetic, looks the way it does, is a common structural material in the automotive industry, not much else is possible. The next (nerdy) step would be to guess the specific alloy as it definitely would not be pure aluminum. My gueses would be 5754 or 5052.

I saw a Braptor mod bumper, front skid, tow hooks, and lights at a decent price. If it was aluminium I was going to snag it. It has since sold. I imagine with all the take offs I can get a front badlands cheap and just replace it if rust becomes an issue.

Thank for y'alls assistance. I couldn't find it on a search.
