I know lifespan on brakes is driver dependent but is anyone with a 2021' hitting point of brakes being done. I've got 28K on mine and have done a local off road park about 1 a month with an overland trip (about 500 miles) and one trip to dunes in Michigan. It's also my daily driver. Dealer is said I'm looking like I'm approaching brake job. Seem about right? I haven't owned a vehicle for off-road use so not sure what to expect. Tire life expectancy would be good feedback as well (tread wear is definitely noticeable but I'm coming from a Honda Accord that would get 50K or more out of a set of tires :) Thanks!!

Hard to say. With lighter vehicles I've been getting 90-100k miles out of pads. The heavier Bronco will probably use them up a bit quicker.

As you say, though, it's gonna vary tremendously depending on your driving style and where you drive. City driving will eat up pass faster than highway miles. Driving in mountainous terrain will as well compared to flatlands.

Having said that I'll be disappointed if I don't get at least 45-50k on a set of pads.

I'm guessing 40k or less on tires, though.

On my trucks I usually get around 35-40k miles for the front pads. Rear pads are usually around 70k miles. I have heard that the KO2's get more than 50k but time will tell for me.

I have about 56,000 miles on mine which is my daily driver (mostly highway) I just got an oil change and my dealer rates the tires brakes and battery either green, yellow or red. Battery and brakes are green and tires are yellow so I will be changing them soon. If you have any recommendations for better tires that would be great.

If I remember correctly, the MI Dunes are all sand. I would expect a lot more wear on brakes form the abrasive ness of the sand.

If I was told I needed brakes by my dealer, I would pop a tire and look at them myself. I trust them with doing all the work on my vehicles. I just know they are also out to make money.

28K on brakes is not the best, but I could see them needing replaced.

As for tires, with airing them down a lot and then running them in sand, mud and rocks, takes a toll on them. I would say if you get 30K out of a set of off road tires, you did good.

The brakes are very mushy in my opinion compared to previous vehicles. Has anyone replaced the brakes with anything that improved this?

Opinion here. If you've got more than a 1/4" of pad and rotors are smooth you're good. But do them before you get rotor damage. Tires: I usually get bored with them or get some new idea before they wear out. Certainly replace if you're getting near the wear bars especially if winter's coming.

I believe you should not ask a barber if you need a haircut either.

I drive a mix of highway/city but am pretty easy on brakes and have gotten over 100k on vehicles with 4 wheel disks lately.

I coast as much as possible for fuel mileage. I drive my F-150’s 200k and then sell them to family members. I’ve never bought brake pads for any of them. It is totally dependent on how the vehicle is driven.

If you are getting any visible pad dust then you are an aggressive braker.

Stick or Auto?

I normally expect about 40k on fronts, and 120k on rears on any vehicle I drive (stick).
Wife got about 25k on brakes on her Expedition.

Tire life.... I expect factory tires to be the most absolute garbage that barely meets DOT specs. I have 10k on my tires and am really surprised by how well they are holding up. Last time I had Firestone/Bridgetone tires they only lasted 900 miles before they separated.

Changed the front pads on my Camry at 180K, Sienna at 190K, Accord 160k, and F150 at 140k. Don't remember ever changing out rear pads. 98% non-city driving.
