Hello all,

Hoping for some guidance.

Had the entire top off all weekend, beautiful weather.
At one point, a bit of rain suddenly and quickly was coming our way, so me and my fiancée were scrambling to get the top back on. On a few small soots of the body near where the hard top meets, it looks as if there are a few scuff marks/scratches. Must have been a little sloppy in our panic to get top on. Seems more like some of the hard top residue is on versus paint damaged, but hard to tell.

Anyone have any similar issues and know what to try to clean/buff these out? And what not to do?

thanks!

Might try posting pics so people can see what you are describing.

Really hard to get a pic right now with how bright it is out and reflective the car is in that.
But here is best i could do:

^This one is hard to see because sky is reflecting right by it along the edge

Doesn’t look there is any depth to the marks. Always start with the least aggressive method. Dab a microfiber towel with the tip of your finger in the towel into some Cleaner Wax. I use this https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-Cle...ocphy=9031582&hvtargid=pla-402631676809&psc=1

Rub the scratch away.

if that doesn’t work, buy a scratch remover and do the same process as above.

im sure what you see will be gone with one of the two mentioned.

One other thing, don’t get any wax on your top.

if you wet the scuff/scratch and it goes away, it's in the clear coat and can be buffed out. If it stays the same after wetting, you may need to have someone wet sand and then polish is out.
